Default Lookin for some mods

hey im new to the forum... just as the title said im lookin for some mods for my '98 cobra (shes in the shop now with the engine torn apart thanks to me) im pretty set on gears, though i dont know which ones. and im looking into a zex system... any ideas on other mods? thanks

your hell on the introducing thing zig.....


to answer your question, since you have a 4v, and your rev limit is higher than the GT's, i would say 4.10 if you do some highway driving, or 4.30 if your mainly stop and go type of thing.

me personally, i would go with 4.30's in a cobra

yeah i figured i would get 4.30's seems how im never on the highway... pretty good SOTP change with 4.30's huh? and how about some spray with a zex system?

well only when there are threads like this one...barely a how do ya do and then here comes the same questions answered a zillion times in this forum and available to anyone willing to just use the search function.

haha yeah my bad on not bein friendly...just kinda bummed on the fact of throwing a rod the other day and finding out today that its gonna be a month without my car... yeah i know theres even a gear thread, but if everybody just used the info already posted then all the threads would be dead haha

My bonestock 2v engine had been through 2 years of NX 100 shot, 3 years running 8-12lbs vortech s-trim, got into boost daily while racing on the weekends, had 157,000 miles on it, and was running like new

if you get nos better get a cam with it too, get the most out of it. Get 4.30 since you have a cobra too.

ZEX is a good starter kit but there are more powerfull kits out there. But if you have never used nitrous before zex is eay to install and use so its a good starter kit for most people. Any wet kit really would be good, you got compucar,nx,nos,zex,ny-trex,dynotune nitrous kits,nitrous works etc.... are all good kits.

hey well thanks alot guys! i probably wouldve ended up with 3.90's or 3.73's if you guys hadnt said anything... thank god i didnt, at least now i cant say i wish i would have gotten more gear and as for nos ive got a while to think about it... thanks

If you're doin' the rebuild get some forged internals while you're at it, if it's financially feasible...

well forged internals will keep you from having to have your engine rebuilt again...Get a more aggressive cam and some better flowing heads and you will get alot better gains.
