Default POS 3650 fighting for 3rd

whenever im going through gears and giving it a little more than just normal driving, my 2 to 3 shift feels like im hitting a wall. i almost have to slam it into gear, and sometimes i even have to back off and almost ease it in there....very frustratigng i have a MGW and it used to be fine 2nd to 3rd and now it just sucks. Also, if i dont ease it into 2nd from first (feathering the clutch) i get a big clunk sound not real sure how to describe that one. are my synchros going out? what the hell is wrong? im about to just throw it through the window and get a TKO

do a search in the forums on 3650 noises. There was a TSB about the synchros (associated with colder temperatures) and there's another about using the correct amount of fluid (not what was originally called for in the manual). There's also a mixture of Syn ATF and Lucas tranny fix that smooths out the shifting.

no...the TSB is worthless without warranty...trust me

I have the same problem with my 3rd gear...when racing i cant powershift it in there...i have to make sure i get it in before i start going...lol sometime down the road i will get a T56 but its not too bad right now. I also have an MGW shifter...i used to have a pro5.0 that made it worse but then i bought the MGW and it doesnt do it to me anymore during daily driving but during a powershift it does it...

I changed the tranny fluid in mine out to royal purple synchromax 3.5 qts when I put my MGW 3650 on. It seemed to smooth out my first to second shifts.
