Exclamation UH! Not good.....

Ok so what would make your oil turn colors? few weeks ago it was normal color it would be when getting close to changeing time but now (500miles b4 due for change) i check it and the oil cap has brownish tan gunk on the cap as does the dip stick(not as much brown color). some of it was in the valve covers crossover tube that gos to the intake to. WTF! Would cause this.?

Drain the oil and let it sit for a while in the drain pan. If you had a leak w/ the coolant, it will form a layer on top of the oil.

a lot of times, if you have a blown head gasket... you will see residue on the cap from coolant.
"milkshake" is also a prime indication...

What does the oil on your dipstick look like?

**edit*(re-read first post)

Drain the oil as said above and make sure there is no antifreeze in there. If so, headgasket.

HG is officially blown. No way to get the sweet smell and the slimy choco-shake goo in the oil but to blow the HG. You're burning coolant as well so you're at risk for getting a hydraulic lock on a cylinder and completely smoking the motor via catastrophic self-disassembly.

Pull your plugs and look for the really bad looking one. That'll tell you which gasket it was so you don't have to replace both (but you still should replace both). Since you've got coolant in the cylinders you're also at risk for blowing up your radiator so no startie until fixie.

Good luck. It's often cheaper to find a good used longblock and just swap it in. HG jobs are about 800-1000 or more around here.

just buy a used pi motor from someone. you can find them locally around here. I got one with 45,000 miles on it for $500 TB to oil pan. While your in there put on some headers if you dont already have them, and a moroso oil pan.

I can tell you that ford will charge you 11.x hours for both head gaskets and thats labor alone. you can expect to pay about 1,100 for that. the gaskets are cheap. like redneck said, its time for heads. could be a warped head from low coolant or a bad gasket. last thing you want to do is do the gasket job and find out you have a warped head or both are warped.

The chocolate milkshake on the oil cap is normal. It is just moisture that has evaporated onto the cap that is caused by short start and stop drives. I have the same thing with my car. But, I do not (knock on wood) have the same color on my dipstick. Like everyone has said above, you most likely have a blown headgasket. If you continue to drive around with it like that you will shell your motor.

I would either build the motor or replace with a used long block. I paid $700 for mine and it had 8,000 miles on it. I also had to buy a few odds and ends like valve covers, so don't forget **** like that.

Have you never heard that before? Just wondering why there are quotes around it.
