What is Wrong With My Transmission? (*VIDEO*)
I have been told this is my throw out bearing. It does this when I put it in neutral and 5th gear when the transmission is cold, mainly on cold mornings and after it has sat for a while. It is quiet for a few seconds and then starts into this noise, kind of pulsing. The sound goes completely away after the tranny gets warmed up. Ideas on what this could be? I'm planning on a spec stage 1 clutch anyway, so hopefully this is only related to my clutch or TOB.

yes its worth the upgrade. a stage 1 clutch is basically a stock replacement. but for the throw out bearing, go with a Ford OEM Throw out bearing. the Spec bearing seems to cause the chatter known to these clutches and the ford eliminates ths problem

Do you have a stage 2? If so, how do you like it? How stiff is the pedal and is a firewall adjuster necessary?

To be honest I am not wasting my money on even the stage 2, I am going with the stage 3. I have driven a Camaro SS with head and cam making 450 rwhp and it had a spec stage 3 and it was fine, no stiffer than what mine is now. The other alternative is to go with a clutch and flywheel from a 2003-2004 cobra, the 11" with an aluminum flywheel. I might go the ford racing route...something to consider...and yes that is defintely your throw out bearing. For a bunch of different bolts and bearings go to latemodelrestoration.com they have pretty cool stuff.

I would get the Stage two if I was you. I kinda regret getting the Stage III, it's too much of a drag setup, not enough travel.
PS. I would get the Steeda adjuster setup on AM, I've heard alot of bad things about other brands, and have had NO problem with the Steeda.
