Unhappy One wheel peel!

Theres a little piece of road back in the country around here. One time I did a big burnout and left a nice strip of rubber that has lasted there for about a year. Now since I have the s/c I wanted to make another strip right next to my old one just for comparison. Well I did it last night and I came back this morning. I looked and there was just one strip from last night! It was MUCH blacker, longer, and more rubber left but there was just one. I have been suspecting that my car has been doing the one wheel peel lately.

So is this a problem I need to fix right now, or will it be ok? I think this is why my launching at the track hasnt been so good. Or maybe the clutch wasnt slipping, it was the diff not engaging or something. My drivetrain is sucking right now with the new power.

Any suggestions on what I need? Do I just need to completely beef up the drivetrain? Always something new I have to buy.

you can install clutch packs without too much fuss and without taking out the diff. I'd just replace the stock diff entirely with a 31spline t-lok or a eaton or auburn and 31spline axles.

deffinatly time to start saving for a set of 31 spline axles and a new ford t-lok (31 spline from the trucks).

I agree. no use rebuilding the clutchpacks if you have to be in there anyways. go buy a 31 spline setup and youll be in a better position. you can also run slicks and not have to worry about twisting your axles and walking home.

I honestly i am not even worried about the carrier on my car that much, im more worried about the axles. I am thnking of jus tossing in 28 spline ford racing ones and adding a girdle and calling the back end done. I dont know anyone who has broken 28 spline ones. i have heard of 2 high hp cars bending them. But the most i am gonna use is big 295 m/t dr's.

well now the car wont even do a decent dougnut. I dont think the diff is hardly even working. Must be why it feels awkward coming through the corners.

I dont want to really mess around with putting some new clutch packs in. I may as well save some money and ride on this thing until I can get a 31 spline setup. Would it be worth the money to go with an Eaton posi rather than a ford truck?

you can get a used truck posi off ebay then get the kevlar coated clutchs from the cobra from ebay aswell new for very cheap and repack them yourself. Its not hard to do at all, and there are a few pages out there online with how to's on it.

Or get a regular cltuch pack kit and add an extra clutch to each side like i did to stiffen it up.

There are also carbon fiber rebuilt kits that are really strong.
