DO NOT PAY FOR THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is a F'n RIP OFF. It is not that hard to install everything. It will take you about 5 hours in you garage to install everything. I'm 17 and I did it with a few buddies in my garage. I'm sure you are capable of doing it. $1,300 is a complete rip off. You should go back to the guy and bitch slap him for giving you a quote that outrageous.
Most people are quoted at about $50-$75 for the X pipe install and about $100 for the catback. It doesnt matter that the X pipe is in multiple pieces. It is actually easier to install them when they are not all one piece. At most you'd spend $250. Its not worth even paying that IMO. Just do it yourself and you will save money and also learn more about your car.

I say do it yourself. Like stated before, its quite easy. Took me about 2 hrs by myslef. With 2 ppl its a lot better. Just make sure you use some penetrating fluid...especially on the passenger exhaust manifold. Thats always a pain.

it's such an easy install it's plum silly not to do it yourself. I do em in about 2 hours. You'll have to cut the stock cat back after the mufflers to get it out without dropping the rear end. The new one should be a simple bolt on and multi-piece so no welding.
the mustang shop has to make a buck too... I wouldn't be too hard on them. They're getting a premium on the kit and padding the labor a bit but it's not a bad deal bought and installed.
