I bought an 04 cobra 31 spling diff with carbon clutches. but i plan on packing it with as many as i can. and at 240 bucks new, i couldn't pass it up. they sell for 300 bucks, so look around before you buy anything.
www.buyfordracing.com has them for 219 bucks now

As long as you have beefy axles slicks should be good to go. i have the cobra t lock,in the shed, soon i will get the 31 axles and i'll run hard on my mickey thompson DR's but later i'll try slicks. I have to get my hood painted first.

well I have the simple bolt ons right now....nothing major for horsepower like supercharging...
I am running Nitto DR's right now..And I hear its a good idea to upgrade the Axels and differntial if your gonna get some 4.10 gears that I have waiting for install. By best 60' time so far without gears is 2.1 WITH DR's..... But then again ive only had like 4 passes with the DR's so far...so im working on lowering that time with harder launches next time...

Also if i launch at 3K, playing the clutch, i can get a 1.9 on my mickey thompson DR's. which you should look into getting them. The nitto or BFB drag radials are good, but the mickey thompsons will make you hook alot better. They're close to being slicks.
Oh and at 3K with the 1.9 it still bogged a little. next time i'm launching at 4K. i know a 1.8 is there.

If you only running in the 2 sec rang or even the 1.9's rang i wouldnt bother with upgrading your axles or posi as you dont need it yet. Better yet figure out the traction problem (more than likly not good suspension) and work on that.
the "cobra one" is just a regual 8.8 posi carrier with kevlar clutchs. You can go on ebay buy a posi out of a F150,expy, etc... and then buy the cobra clutch pack set from ford for 50bucks. Total if you shop can be as low as $110 total. This is what i did in my 99 f150. The extra clutch idea is great aswell that what i did it really helped to stiffen it up and make it push power to both tires alot more.

Im running just a regular Ford truck posi. Wish I went with the Cobra one, but oh well. I think its a good idea to build your rear now before you start hitting 1.5-1.7 60' times. Either way, youll have to do it eventually.
