Change model?

Change model?
I'm a bit new at the whole car thing, and I was hoping on aquiring my own project car soon. As you might all know, a '68 coupe is MUCH cheaper than a fastback, and so I am wondering something. I have not been able to find the answer online either. Is it possible to change the make of a 68 mustang? Meaning, can I change a coupe to a fastback? Or is it entirely not possible? All feedback will be greatly appreciated.

If you don't mind spending 20K to do it, it's just as possible as any other idea. Nothing is really impossible... hell you can make a Fiero look like a Lamborghini but do you really think it's worth it. Either wait for a fastback in good shape to come along or just live with the coupe. Coupes can look down right badazz themselves.

I found this... would it still cost a lot to change?
For Sale #472 68 Mustang fastback roof, cut off correctly with all parts needed to make a fastback. Roof is a little rusty under roof scoops and in trunk rail area not perfect but major potential. Rear window, Fastback door glass with tracks and regulators, stainless around door glass yet. Roof rail trim (all 6 pieces), complete rear seat area, all the metal trim inside and up by the headliner. All floor brackets to bolt in the rear seat were cut out also. Rear window stainless, 6 pieces dent free, fastback only headliner bows. To much more to list asking $2500 for everything I have.

It was posted fairly recently and I think it'd be a good deal?

If you can't weld 2 beer cans together without leaving a seam, then no it's not going to help the cost because you're going to have to pay a world class welder to do it and that's where the cost is. Having the parts isn't the expensive bit... having the skillz is.
If you want a fastback, get a fastback. If you want a coupe, get a coupe. If you can't afford a fastback, learn to love your coupe and say kind nurturing things to it.
