Arrow X Pipe question

I was wondering... does anybody know if there is a big difference between an O/R X pipe and one with Cats soundwise? I have an O/R Pipe and I'm getting a little tired of the "FartCan" exhaust note at around 3k rpms, and I was wanting something a bit deeper. If I switch to one with Cats, will that ricer sound go away, or am I just wasting my money?

The cat's will mellow it out some and have a better tone but it won't be as loud.

Cats are good for the enviroment but had a friend that went from a O/R H pipe to a H pipe with high flow cats and i thought it was almost stock sounding. He was pissed. If you can....no cats.

yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna switch to Cats. Hopefully I'll be happy with the sound then. I like loud, but I like loud and in control tone even better.

I have no idea but when he bought his 04 GT he went with an X pipe with no cats. I didn't have cats on my 95 and i don't have cats now. I like to be heard from a mile away.

Switch to an off road H. It will deepen up a bit.

If you like the loudness of the o/r pipe, you are going to be real disappointed if you put cats on.

They will significantly reduce the noise level, but in your case, they will mellow it out and give it some tone. Whether that tone is "good" or not, thats preference, because I love my o/r X. I have a VRS o/r X and its the best o/r X Ive ever heard. No popping or rasp, just plain old loud *** mustang ripping thru the gears!
