Default Finally in the 12s!

2003 Mustang GT hardtop with manual tranny.

Yea It went 12.92 with a 1.95 60ft,and a 8.53 1/8th. It was the first time spraying the car on a track so I know theres more left in it. I am running the stock tune so a custom tune should drop at least a tenth or two.

Mods include: 75 hp shot of ZEX wet nitrous, MAC cold air intake, stock plenum and throttle body, Steeda pulleys, Pro 5.0 shifter, UPR offroad X-pipe, Flowmaster cat back, 255lph fuel pump, Nitto Drag Radials, spare tire removed, front swaybar removed, and 1/2 tank of 93 octane with octane booster.

I ran against a pretty much stock SRT-4. Dont know what his mods were but it had slicks and the blowoff valve was loud. He ran a 13.8 with a 2.21 60ft. Oh yea and removing the front swaybar really works. The front end wanted to come off the ground so bad.

With a few more mods, next time im goin huntin for stock 03 cobras!

Congratulations on running a 12. You still have more left in it for sure, get a good safe tune and some gears and you will drop another half to three quarters of a second.

nice run

a little off topic now but with the sway bar removed does it affect regular driving? do most people leave it on except when they go to the track?

I am running 275/40/17 Nitto Drag Radials on the stock 17x8 rims. They hook great at the track. I know theyre not ideal for the best handling but I cant tell any difference in normal street driving.

Yea its easy to take the front swaybar off. It took me all of 5 minutes or less to take it off.

Yea handling is noticeably worse. Dont try making any fast and sharp turns with it off. Ive had mine off for about 3 weeks now. I dont really drive it that hard on the street but, I like to show off to ricers by lifting the front up really high while im driving.

I have had my sway bar off for at least 18 mos. I corner hard and drive like a fool with no issues. It takes a little getting used to but you'll be fine. I have Steeda sport springs and I had to install a set of adjustable drag struts to get the front to raise up.

So what is the point of taking off the front sway bar? I know with all the jeeps I used to off-road I did it for flexing the suspension. But why for the track?
