Default My First Drag Race in my 05 - comments plz

Since this is my first time with my 05 GT at the track, any comments from other racers that cant help me get better times, I know that I need Drag Tires. what else would help me.

This was my best run of the day..
R/T - .176
60 - 1.995
330 - .000
1/8 - 8.580
miles per hour - 81.45
1000 - 11.178
1/4 - 13.363
miles per hour - 103.39

pretty good times for your first time taking it out, have you raced other cars at the track before?

Well the last time I raced was 1981, I had a 1971 Trans-am 455 HO that I raced. But not since then. Now I'm 44 and have the bug again, kids are grown and my son in intrested in mustangs so we have a couple of them and we work on them together, father/son projects.

thats definitely pretty good for your first time back into it.

i've heard of some people running the 05+ stangs into the high 12's with only drag radials, so i'd look into getting a set of those along with some upper and lower control arms to get rid of the wheel hop problem that most 05+ stangs seem to have. if you dont have that problem then save your money though.

i dont see anything you're doing wrong, if you want some better times look into some performance mods like an x-pipe, gears or maybe a power adder.

Thanks, I have Gears and a CAI.. I am looking into a stall coverter to allow me to bring the RPM's up for launch but right now I just hold the brake and get the RPM's around 1200 then mash the gas.
