Default sorry runs today

Well went to the track today and the times I got where very disappointing. I have 75mm accufab intake plenum and tb, stock intake but the resonator box is taken off and borla catback exhaust. Well here are my sad *** numbers… it was hot as hell though and very humid so that might have had a lil to do with it I assume.

My best run

R/t ---- .232
60--- 2.325
330----6.449
1/8----9.909
mph---72.17
1000----12.832
¼----15.307
mph---92.43

my car weighss 3555 pounds with me in it, according to the scale at the track.

Not trying to be a dick...But those are some seriously bad times (you aklready know that though). So what went wrong? How was traction, what temp was it. How high (elevation) is the track? What car do you have and what mods?

I've seen worst. The heat will play a factor at the track. if it's hot as hell that day, the track can be 50 or more degrees hotter. Stock I pretty much had the same but i ran a 14.97 at 94mph. You'll have to work on your 60' time, but with street tires, some can be tricky. and of course drag radials will help. with my mickey thompson's I got a 1.9 60' but it also bogged just a tad, so next time i'll launch at alittle higher RPM.
How were you launching? Did you slip the clutch playing with it and the gas or did you sorta drop the hammer and just go?

You have to remember too, your car is non PI so your car is still on the weak side. stock is 215HP but saleen probably rated it at 225HP at the crank since you had the exhaust. i've seen our cars with some mods run low 14's. Once you do some major work, you'll see alot better times.

Yea was really mad about the dam times… but I really didn’t drop the clutch tried not to have that much of tire spin and 2.2 was my best 60ft which isn’t that bad on street tires. But yea it was really hot and humid. Went with a bunch of people who where all running .3 tenths of a second slower then they usually do so I really think that had a lot to do with it. As for above or below sea level have no clue what jersey’s elavtion is. All I no is really hated those times a lot and really think the tb is to big.

To answer Cuban only mods are all saleen mods like suspension exhaust and possible 353 gears I have the 75mm accufab intake plenum and tb. Also took off the resonator box on the intake but still stock intake. Cold air is on the way but the mail takes nine years.

2.2 isn't bad at all on street tires but a 2.0 is possible. Next time you go to the track, do another run with your set up, let it cool down and while you are cooling down, put your stock throttle body back on. or since you know how you are with these times, put your stock TB on before you go to the track. That way you can see if the bigger TB is making you lean out on top. If you had an adjustable fuel pressure regulator you could bump it up 2 more psi and run it like that, if it still ran normal, maybe bump it up 2 more.

on my one post, i said stock but i had the 75mm TB, C&l plenum, saleen pulleys, H pipe and flowmaster catback. i meant like stock motor, comparing my 4.6 to my 5.4.

What RPM are you shifting at? Your 60' times aren't horrible. I have a feeling that the car was losing a crapload of power to the heat and humidity.

Well I tried shifting all around the board. Tried a couple with going to redline and tried some with going only to about 5300/5500rpm. Both pretty much had the same results 15.307 and 15.310 where the two best though. What do you recommend my shift points be for best performance?

I would say 5000rpms, i know for the non pi's it's not gaining crap at 6K rpms.
I shift around 5000 to 5200. My max TQ is at 3700 rpms max HP is at 4800 rpms but at 5000 rpms i still have 300TQ to the wheels and around 284 HP, so by 5200 i have almost 290 TQ and still like 284 HP, by that time my 300 TQ should be at the wheels and i'm shifting. At 6K i'm only pushing 225 HP and 200 TQ to the wheels so even for me, why go to 6K.
