Alright what kind of helmet is needed for the track? I've seen only one person use one at the track over here (I dont think they care). How many people actually use one here.

At the track i go to in houston. You have to wear one if you run a 13.99 or faster. So i wear my good ol' ATV helmet
It doesn't matter what type really. Suppose to be approved by some license deal, but they dont check, just as long as you have one. |

Here at Gateway where I run, as of this year, require a snell00 rating or newer. From what Ive read, the M00 rating is acceptable(motorcycle rated)at other drag strips. If you buy one, just get a SA00 rated one or newer.(SA= special applications)If you do any auto-x or road course, they wont let you race with out it.
I just bought a SA05(newest avalible)from summit for $150. 00 = 2000 05 = 2005 A new snell rating comes out every 5 years. |
