long tube headers, off road mid pipe (H-pipe rules), catback (mac is cheap and rules also),K&N drop in filter,4.10 gears, slicks. you will go 12's with a good driver and a stick shift car. If a guy i know here in hot *** orlando can do it with a vert at orlando speed world, which is known not to ever spray VHT on test and tune nights you can do it anywhere.

3. drag radials
4. X pipe and catback.
5. pullies

you dont need the plenum or TB. like said i know a guy who got high 12's around 12.8 -12.9 with long tubes, mid pipe off road style. mufflers 4.10 and slicks with a tune. thats it and all he did was pull the spare. of course better axles and **** would help.

Well I would say that most guys can't drive well enough to hit 12's without a few mods. Sure if you practice alot and drive very well you can hit 12's with just exhaust, gears and sticky tires.Chances are you will blow up the rear end in the process. I see alot of GT's with 250-300 hp at the wheels stuck in the 13's. It's all in the driving.

Spike you should run at Gateway, it's embarassing how slow most of the GT's are. On an average night you will see lots of 00-04 GT's running mid to low 15's. Kids come up to me and ask what kind of blower I'm running. You should see their faces when I tell'em I have a few bolt on's. There are 03 Cobra's running low 14's, Mach ones in the 14's. What really sucks is there are a pretty fair number of well driven low 13 high 12's LS1 Camrobirds, so it's a slaughter of Fords. I've a buddy with an auto 00 GT who was running 13.05 who will be there this year with cams and headers and a new higher stall converter. I'm adding headers o/r Xpipe, skinnies and slicks so we should kick a fair amount of GM booty. It's all in the driver like you said. I know a couple of Florida guys who ran 13.00 with very few mod's, Tony Whetstone ran 12's with stock gears I think. You most likely know some of them from OSW.

yeah i know alot of the modular depot OSw guys. But like you said so many people can NOT drive its enbeliveable. Now i see why all i ever see is post about how do i add power cause my times suck lol.

I have also seen some funny **** at OSW, ther was a guy with a built 4.6 2valve still but fully built 10.2:1 compression and a kenny belle 2.2 blower or whatever the new big kenny bell kit is and he was running 12.8's@125 lol i was like wow you trap 125 but run a 12.8 awsome, not really. and he had nice big drags. Like you said so many either A-cant drive or B- are scared to drive them hard.

But its almost always A

word, I agree 100 percent. my niebor thinks he's king sh*t because he owns a mach, we both went to the track one day and I beat him in all FOUR head to head runs, sure i had DR's, but a decent driver would have beat me with over 50rwhp more to the ground.
I even tried to give him some advice before we ran the first time, he said, "I have been driving since you have been in diapers, i can drive my car" :thebirdma

I love racing Mach Ones and the older Cobra's. Most of the guys who have them are kinda elitest in their attitudes. It's like because you have a GT you most be a lower class than they are. Then I spank them and send their pretty cars home to momma. You can always tell they spend more time polishing the car than learning to drive it. This year I'm looking to drop another 3/4 of a second by fall down to 12.00 so I'll be hunting for Corvettes and blown Cobra's too. Once I get some 28" tall slicks I'm gonna hit it with a 100 shot and run 11 flat then I'll really have some fun.
