need 2 know what trans 2 use for street strip

I Use A Stock C4 . But It Went Out. And Also Need To Know What
Converter. To Use . The Motor Is A 306 With A 568 Cam Lift.and 4.56
Gears Out Back. Please Help.

maurice , PA or www.performanceautomatic.com has a lifetime warranty on their c4 super comp tranny. check it out or if you want to go AOD i would advise Lentech for their tranny. I ordered an AODE street strip tranny from Lentech and it will be here next week. ill keep you posted!! you wont go wrong with either of those companies and they will give you good advise on your convertor choice.

Where do you live or are you doing mail order. 4.56 and a c4, must be mostly a strip car. No OD sounds like 8mpg!!!

I had a local shop years ago rebuild my AOD that held up fine behind a 475rwhp 93 mustang Gt with a Single intercooled Turbo. They build their own converters and dont rape you.

They are in Delaware. deltrans on old baltimore pike. $400 for a 3200 stall, and $550 to rebuild the trans, and If i remember I paid $200 and something for a non lockup input shaft. And they did some tricks so i could shift manually and it would stay in 1st or 2nd. And every gear on street tires would set you back and chip!!!

They actually gave me a warranty. I used to push 14lbs, and ran the hell out of it for 2 years.

Its very very hard to find a honest trans shop!!!!! All deltrans does is rebuilds for around here, They really dont do installs. but will on race and customs. And have probably 25 people there just rebuilding transs. But the owner takes on customs. American owned and operated. I sware it was a 60 year old Grandmother looking lady I saw assembling my Hot tanked tranny!!!

I do not understand how some tranny shops can charge $2500 to rebuild a trans. I had a quote once to rebuild a t5 tranny for $1750 plus $300 to remove and install. I pulled out my motorsports catalog from my back seat and showed him a brand new T5 for $895 for a world class back in 1990. He told me his rebuilt one would be better?? I ended up taking it to a local guy thats known for fixing T5s and Gave him $425.

The car got totalled and I sold the tranny to a guy who ran for 2 more years pumping nitrous to it. He totalled his car and sold it to an unknown. Its probably still running today!!!

Wow, it sounds like that tranny shop knew what they were doing. Thats awesome that it took that much abuse and still went on haulin the mail. You dont see that anymore really, all I read about are the problems with auto trannys now.
