Default Exhaust for GT40 Heads

I just bought some gt 40 heads for my 95 gt that i havent installed and ive heard that the stock exhasut wont fit? but i have my old stock headers here and they bolt up just fine. so i was wondering what part of the exhaust wont fit??? or does it fit??

The stock exhaust will fit; but you will not unlock the head potential exhaling through those pinched stock headers.

I thought they only dont fit gt40x heads?

If they are the stock type of GT40s for the Mustang, they'll be fine. The GT40-P heads (from Explorers) have a different shape exhaust port that requires different headers.

:bash: I think you might be correct about the GT40X heads also...but if you're putting stock headers on a gt40X head....:bash: ..then you need help

You'll know if you have the GT40P heads, the bolt holes won't line up.

well the headers im using are on the car so i fitted the stock ones i had laying around. these heads arent the gt40p. i guess i dont need new headers?

the only problem with running gt40 p heads is that the last spark plug on the passengers side will be to close to the header so you will not be able to fit the spark plug boot on
