Default 5.0 Computers

Hi, I am totally new on this board and I live in Sweden. Experienced though when it comes to 87-88 Mustang GT's but would like to get some info on the 94-95 GT's
as I and my son are planning on buying one and there are not so many 94-95's to choose from here. So how is it with the engine computers in the 94-95 - can they be replaced with for instance the A9L or even to the early speed density from 87-88 (=DA1) for 5-speed. And how is it with a 94-95 with automatic (AODE?) -is the 94-95 controlling the auto or is it a separate
computer? We have a rebored 5.0 with GT40P heads and Explorer intake and more just waiting for a good 94-95 to put it in preferably with a T5 gear box
or maybe one with auto which can be converted to manual.
Maybe someone here knows about a good link where to read about this.
/Thanks, Jan Linderholm

You can put a A9L in it but you will have to contact PRO-M for there PIH kit to rewire some of the 94-95 computer harness, not hard, especially since i did it with no problems. Also that's something you will have to do if you get better flowing heads or cam. The stock EECIV likes bolt ons but not anything radical, hence the heads and cam. Or use the stock computer and get a chip, did that to and didn't like.
They also state to use 89-93 computers with the kit so pre 89 i wouldn't use. And claim a little performance boost by just switching to the 89-93 computer, different fuel tables/maps. I had a 95 GT and loved it and still wish that i didn't sell her.
Good luck with it.

You can, in my first response to this, It talks about me taking a 89 Mustang computer out and putting it in my 95 GT, but you can't just swap them, it takes some rewiring to make it work.
