Default Autocross Videos (six)

Here are some videos of the Autocross this past weekend. It was a real nice course. Pretty fast also, but with a tricky last slolam.

Runs 1-6 in order. It rained in the morning and had quit by the time the first car was on course but puddles were everywhere. By the second set of runs it had dryed up and I got some goos heat in the tires by the 5th run and put down a decent time. On the 6th run the tires were a little too hot and I pushed it a little too much in a couple of turns.

I ran only 5 seconds behind a '95 Street Mod Cobra with race tires, PHB and such, so I felt decent about that. I was only 6-7 seconds behind the fastest car. The big course and open stretches allowed me to make up some time.

It actually wasn't very good, technically, but my time wasn't far off my best time which was run 5. I got a little loose at the end or turn two and decided to just push it a little more and just aim between the gates. Since I was going faster I ended up almost plowing a cone in turn 4 right before a slolam. I guess the speed made up for the poor braking into a couple of the turns.

It's pretty simple, I made it myself with a simple pipe some bolts and screw and the tops of tripods. It's a little different now than it is in these pictures. I have a larger camera tripod top that you would see on an expensive tripod. The first version as seen in the pictures is just a simple screw on type.

I also have now a suction cup type of camera mount that easily mount to my windshield or sunroof, but I didn't use it this past weekend and don't have pictures of it.
