the racing is fun, but the roll over its just different, now that i have done it once i won't mind doing it again, but its just weird. and hurt with the anchor strap on the 5-point harness

but turn two was giving me trouble all night up high and i couldn't get a pass on to duck lower where i needed to be...

seems like it would be very disorienting; generally when i see flips or spins and know that its a "safe" situation, I think it would have been one hell of a ride.
so long as i see roll bars, fire suit, 5pt, helmet with neck strap, and the car doesnt fly apart.... could be fun... never flipped.
what is the average speed on that track?
is that a 1/2mi track?

Poor Chevelle! I'm more of a '67 fan myself, but I hated to see that '66 go tumbling like that. Glad you were alright.

its actually slightly smaller than a 1/2 (if i remember correctly and at that track the enduro class (mine) gets to about 55 i would guess.. i was hitting 22 second lap times, i was the fastest car out there according to lap times... except for 1 lap..
and then the mods (fastest class) pules 17 second lap time

wow, not bad! that looks like alot of fun! so do you guys just gut an old car, throw in a good ol v8 and run 'em around? or is there alot of classes and tests you have to take?
im sure there is a lot of safety involved but other than that.....?????

well the lower classes run stripped out old v8's with a roll cage, my class you have to have a wheel base of 110" and in the faster classes its 108" so they run metric cars.. for safty we have roll cage fuel cell race seat five point harness and a few more little things... and for classes there are about 8 others, enduro, pure stock, stock, outlaw, sports mods, and modified. the sports mods and modified only have the frame of a metric the rest is built new pretty much...
at lubbockmotorspeedway.com there are more vides of the other classes...

and no you just build a car and drive it, they recondmend driving in enduro first because they aren't as fast and they don't mind to get beat up some.. and we even have some 13-15 year old kids driving out there
