Default Bullit wheel take offs

Hello,

I want to buy some bullit rims for my 98 v6. There are plenty for sale on e-bay, but some of the sellers say they will not properly fit 94-something. Here is my question. By proper fit does it mean they will fit, or they will not fit period? The take offs that I already have came from a wheel dealer who says they were from an 05. They bolted on OK and the car drives OK. So I am confused by proper fit. Anyone else have take off wheels from an 05-06 on a 98? The attached picture will expain the need for new rimms.

regards,

Erik

Default offset

Thank you for your reply.

OK, next dumb question. If the offset is wrong what does that do to my car, because I may currently have 05's on my stang. Do i need to get them off? I am replacing the wheels all the way around because it seems like I can only find them in sets of 4 . I want FORD factory wheels only. thanks again.

Yours don't look like 05's. If your offsets are way off you'll have rubbing, poor handling, steering difficulty, etc. The bullitts that come on a 99-04 are different backspacing than the ones on 05/06. The 99-04 ones should fit fine on your stang.

Default awsome

Thanks FritoBandito,

for clearing things up for me. Mine are probably 04 wheels then. You have saved me from making a costly mistake because I was close to buying take offs from an 05. I owe you one!

Yeah i wouldn't trust all the sellers on Ebay right now, alota them don't tell you they have refurbished wheels. A buddy of mine got his "new" rims in and they has light scratches and had been painted over other scuff marks in other places...here the wheels are reputable, and like Frito said free shipping...and i think you might get the 6% discount...idk...u gotta check into that.

I've read that PayPal can get your money back in certain situations of complete negligence on the part of the seller, such as misrepresenting what they are selling. Paypal will take the money straight out of the seller's account and return it to you

Default MT Wheels

I've heard people say good things about MT's bullitt wheels. Are these wheels from Ford, or are they reproductions from another company? What is anthracite. I never realized how soft aluminum wheels were until I hit that curb, see the picture on my original post. Will anthracite protect me from that curb that jumped out in front of me? For some reason I just like the thought of using wheels that came from another Mustang, or even brand new from Ford so I'm not sure about buying from MT yet....

thanks,

Erik

i dunno what that means but the wheels from mt are not ford oem. If your wanting to go with oem, then get ready to pull out your pocket book. I think Wheel Replicas makes most of mt's rims/ they seem like good quality to me and are very very close to matching oem. Just reuse your factory pony emblems.

Anthracite is charcoal. Not silver, not grey, just be careful, early 99-04's have a different color (more silvery) than the later 99-04s>

Default anthracite

Doh! :wallbash:

Stupid me, I was thinking anthracite was some kind of aluminum aloy that they make rims from. I just looked up anthracite i see it is coal. So anthracite is the color of the wheel.
