Those type of performance parts are very limited for sixers. Sort of falls in the the "hey, if you are gonna mod a v-6, just but an 8" category.

I still think the best mod for a 6 is nitrous hands-down. Just add a 75 shot, some gears, and you will be driving past the GT's.

CompCams has a few diffent cams from mild to a serious cam, along with the dual valvesprings you'll need too all at a very decent price.

Here try some real V6 guys for a change.

rpm-mustangs.com
supersixmotorsports.com

Both come very highly recommended in the V6 world.

Also and I hate to say this but I have noticed this site doesn't have the best info for us 3.8 guys. Try 3.8mustang.com or v6power.net for really good info.

... And the 05 V6 that's in the 11's and the fox body running a split port 3.8 in the 10's and countless other guys have proven that our little V6's aren't so little after all...

Not true not all cam grinds require new springs.

Well, people are trying to help it's just that the 3.8 is a completely different animal than what the GT/ cobra guys are used to on here. They respond differently and have a very different market.

And then you get a guy that thinks a CAI and exhaust get's him 225rwhp on a stock 3.8 and 335 with a 100 shot And we are still waiting for the graph...

Oh cool. I don't consider myself a hardcore 3.8 guy. I mean I take most of my time learning about them since I have one honestly. But V8's, other sixes, really all cars interest me.

Hit up Mik at RPM-mustangs.com. Tell him you want a nice N/A street cam. You'll probably want to go with a 207/215 cam from him. There have been guys getting 200-210rwhp from just swapping to this cam and a good tune I will be running the same cam but set-up a bit differently after my procharger project is concluded.

By the way with that cam you'll see a great jump in torque too. If you have the cash got a 7.5" t-lok and some new gears for the rear end. You'll hit low to mid 14's N/A, that's GT company right there and you don't have to fill up a bottle and you'll have the power all the time.

You can get new rear end gears, the gear set in your axle, that's what I'm talking about. I have 4.10 gears in and I LOVE them. I also have a auto by the way. If you want a kick *** auto that can run maybe even out run some 5-speeds get a high stall torque converter and the gears. That right their can drop up to a full second off your 1/4 time

you can not change your trannys internel gears (well yes you can but its costly and not the mod everyone is talking about).

i would also recomend 4.10 gears for an auto 3.8 mustang.

Cuban, I didnt refer to the valvespings being needed for ALL the cams Comp has, only some are recommended you do use them. BTW I sent the Dyno graph files to Shambles to post but he never did so..

cuban i remember you saying that you are getting a supercharger. Is it true that since the supercharger uses another pully that it decreases your mpg?

I fully expect to lose MPG and a supercharger does take power to make it so I guess that's true yes. But I'm betting I'll see less MPG more because of the increase in fuel I'll have to put into the cylinders since I'll have so much air in there.

SC's destroy fuel economy when you are in the boost. That is a simple fact of making more power.

The fact that an SC has a pully, does result in having drag loss. This reduces some hp from the flywheel to the rear wheels. Turbo's don't have this problem. I used to be common to belive that SC were less fuel efficienct then turbos while not in the boost because of this added pully.

At the end of the day, all the matters is what you are putting down to the wheels.

On high powered cars, I suppose all things being equal, Turbos might be best since you can only put soo much power on any block before it is toast. But, there are too many factors and arguments either way.
