A v6 doesnt need a crossover pipe. It has a even firing order. Althought it is said a crossover helps get rid of the high pitched sound after 3-4,000 rpm.

So if you have decied to get rid of the little y-pipe all together. You can just like a v8 go with either a H-pipe or a X-pipe that they sell HERE
These are for stock or Shorty headers and will not work with long tubes.
You can also get a shorty H-pipe from MAC that works with Long tube headers that i will discuss next.
As for which one should you get the x or the H its up to you there isnt to much a different in hp, but the H makes slightly more tourqe down low, and the X normaly makes more power up top. Also the H-pipe will give a deeper tone where as teh x will have a more european sound. Also with a aftermarket X-pipe or H-pipe you can also run any GT catback."

this is where i got mine, you also need to either have an exhaust shop fab up a second muffler hanger, or order one from them like i did for $50, they had great service for me and were fast shippers.

i have an 03 v6 im getting ready to buy my exhaust today and im goin with a mac exhaust and i want to get the flowmaster mufler....im kind of a noob so im going to list the things Im getting ready to buy and tell me if I've got everything

it just bolt sup dude, you should be fine.

just take your time and read dirrections

you dont need the shorty h-pipe thats for long tube headers. all you need is the dual exhuast adaptor or get all new replace ment h-pipe for the v6 which will also let you bolt that GT catback onto it.

yea...don't get the shorty h pipe...you'll end up w/ a gap...just get the adapter, or have the shop fab you an h pipe....and another thing - IMO, 2 hi-flow cats sound better than none...none seems to sound raspy to me...but above all POST YOUR SOUND CLIP WHEN IT'S DONE! I'M DYING TO HEAR THE AMERICAN THUNDER ON A V6!:D

if you are having the shop do the piping then you don't need the adapter kit, but if you are getting a catback exhaust that is made for a gt then you need it...or you can have the shop make the pipe anyway...

i just bought my flowmasters and then had the shop do everything else

So to clarify, the Dual Exhaust V6 Adapter kit, that attaches just after the Cats? and then the Cat back attaches to the Adapter right?

Correct a GT catback will then bolt ot the adaptor.

Ok thanks, I think I have it all straight in my head now. Id like to go to duals in the future but rather than get everything custom I like the idea that it would be setup as a factory bolt on setup once the adapter is installed.

Then get a full out replacement h-pipe from mac made for the v6. then you can bolt a Gt catback onto it. They sell that all here at www.mustangtuning.com

What exactly is the point of the v6 adapter? Can't you just do some cuttin and welding to fit on an H pipe and then run a GT catback through? Does the adapter allow an H pipe, or does it become an H pipe, I guess is what I'm confused about. say..

Would it be:

Headers - adapter - h pipe - catback
Headers - adapter -catback

Ah...so how do some people have actual H pipes on their V6's? Cut the Y and weld it on?

MAC sells an h-pipe that bolts right up to the exhaust manifolds or headers and allows the person to bolt up a GT muffler setup. Of course, a custom one could be made by cutting the y-pipe and welding up some pipes. That's how the exhaust was on my other car, 95 v6, before I bought new stuff to replace old rusted junk.

MT also sells the v6 h-pipes. I'm not sure of the brand name, but wanted to make sure I said that too, since I mentioned MAC. Gotta gives props to MT.

no it doesn't, i have a v6 w/ mac dual exhaust coming off the y-pipe and it doesn't sound anything like my friends hondas...

im in a rush and didnt feel lik reading all these posts so when u get the adapter and wanna get the gt cat back does it have to be from the same year or any year thanks

don't need the adapter...but if you want to get it, it will end up matching years (yes) b/c you have to get a catback to match your year model (GT) so the adapter would have to match...but again, you don't need it...just have the shop cut your y pipe and fab the straight pipes (or h pipe)

well i no i need the adapter of the year model but im talking about the GT catback if that hasta be the same year model like can i get the 94 adapter then a 2000 gt catback

what i'm saying is that you need to get the same year catback for the GT as your year model...you have a '94 so you need a '94 GT catback and therefore need a 94 adapter (if you were to get one)...why would you want a 2000 GT catback anyway? It may fit, but i'm not totally sure...i'd just stick w/ your year...

94-04 Gt take-offs are the same.
