Default 4.2 v6

Ive been looking for a 4.2 v6 but not sure where else to look besides ford. All I want is the block and I am going to build it from there and yes it needs to be made for nitrous.

Also I dont want to go to a junk yard so I want to get a GT or cobra rearend
4:11 gears,
roll cage,
And input on lowering springs and If i should go with a steeda suspension upgrade with upper and lower control arms.

The engine also needs a aluminum radiator or possibly better. Because its also going to have TT's.

The junk yard will have 4.2 from base modle f150's from 1997-2003 thats wher eyou can get the block from. you can get a mustang 8.8 from a wrecked stang at a yard thats really only your best bet.

also, i read that you can just use the crank from the f150 motor and, voila, 4.2 liter stroker.

I thougth the 4.2 also has a taller deck hight which adds some of those cubes. but i could be wrong. I know you can add teh crank to the 3.8 but i am not sure if that gives you a full 4.2L of displacment.

I would call supersix motorsports they can set you up with a cam and rods and **** to get you going plus they will know for sure what works and what doesnt.

ps-props for being different and building the v6. If i had a v6 i am sure i would be a die hard six fan too, they are damn strong motors.

Yeah supersix was runnin the crank off an F-150, and the uppermanifold off a 97 Windstar, the lower manifold was from a 99-01 Mustang, and they had also done some stuff to the rockers and new rods and what not. It was bad@$$, I just wish there was an economical way to get our 3.8 into higher hp and speeds...my friends WRX runs 0-60 5.4 sec with a curb weight of just over 3000 lbs, thats what our V6 weighs and with 27 less hp we're almost a second and a half slower...it just bugs me! Also, that mustang in MM&FF ran 10's with nitrous, i don't wana have to refill the bottle every race, thats a waste...there has to be a way a non blown V6 can run with a GT, the 350z does it! **end rant** lol

350z doesnt run with a GT i know i have killed many many of those.

And you can get it to run fast like anythig you gotta pay money.

If you port those heads and intake add a cam with long tubes and off road h-pipe and saome catback that thing will hual ***.

Like i always say these motors are strong as hell my freinds 94 has a 2000 3.8 in it with nothing but a 11psi ATI kit and ehaust and it pushes over 300rwhp and over 313ft lbs so it makes power with a stock long block.

you could go that route too you know.

Super six motorsports told me that they have a 4.3 with a 125 shot running 10's.... In which I still want the 4.2.... should I just get another engine like mine and build it up but the question I want to know what do I have to change to run nos?

What exactly entails porting heads? Would new rods and pistons do much? I'm already planning on putting on Long Tub headers, with the off-road xpipe and i haven't decided the Cat yet, maybe flowmaster, maybe SLP, (neva heard SLP on a V6)...but i honestly, am starting to become somewhat obsessed in trying to figure out how my V6 can run with a V8 without NOS or a power adder. i mean Nos is nice for the track, but this is still my daily driver, i'm not tryin to sit at a light and accidently flip the switch and throw a rod.

Port the heads is something you should not do at homeunless you reall yknow what your doing. Its a process that removes metal and polishes the inside where the air flwos so it huals ***. So it makes it larger (flows more air) and polishs it so it flows even more.

As for not using nitrous (stop calling it nos) like i said a nice Head cam and intake package and you will eat most v8 stangs. Then if you want you can punch the block out stroke it all the way out ot 4.6 (yes you cna take a truck block 4.2L and bore and stroke it ot 4.6L of displacement). so you cna always do that also. and then you could run a wet nitrous system on top for fun.

Its gonna cost around 3k for teh heads cam intake setup and around another 3k for the motor work. i would get the heads cam and intake first them save for the motor work. trust me the H/C/I are so worth it.

You can run NITROUS on your stock engine. if you wanna spray larger than 100hp ( i wouldnt go over 125MAX on a 3.8) then you need better pistons and rods. and a fuel upgrade such as a focus pump etc.....
