A CAI is'nt going to help out too much.Exhaust would let it flow better and sound good.Nos will not blow up your motor.Gears would be the 1st thing to consider.Just put a K&N airfilter in and don't waste your money on the CAI.

if you don't do a CAI, then atleast take out the silencer, (its the narrow end tube, but to be honest, for a cheap mod, the CAI gives you better gas mileage, and myabe 3-7 horses. I got the MT CAI, and at night my car feels sooo much nicer. also, def. get gears, but don't go into the 4.10, thats way to high, 3.73 should be good enough.

Nitrous isnt going to blow up your engine if its used correctly. Most people that have damage to their engine is using a big shot, or something went wrong somewhere. "essentially" alls nitrous does is introduce more oxygen into your engine.

Well so far, is this ok?

1st. CAI :: http://www.mustangtuning.com/94-98-v...ir-intake.html
2nd. Gears :: http://www.mustangtuning.com/mopepl3gefor.html
3rd. Exhaust :: ???
4th. Nitro :: ???

Of course If I got enough money for all 4...yah or nah?

Default Cai

I just bought a K&N CAI and was search for a site or page that someone might have pics of their installation process. It's going on a 99 V6. I checked the forums but I might not be entering the correct keywords to get me there. Does anyone know where to find this?

Just to clarify, Lance was referring to monkeh being "stuck" on the CAI thing, not you.

Here is a link to the install instructions for the bbk CAI BBK CAI Install .

Here is a link to the install instructions for the MAC CAI. This one does have pictures MAC CAI Install .

I'll let someone else respond about the HP gains as I am really not sure and don't want to mislead. Second, the gears will take care of the acceleration. Gears do not add HP. They help you to get into the powerband sooner to take advantage of the HP you have, thus quicker.

You are wasting your money on a cold air intake. its not going to be worthy of the money you spend on it. get nitrous and/or gears.

Ok, well then, i guess CAI is evil...and how exactly does nitro work? I don't wanna ask lame questions and sound stupid...just gimme a basic example..so i can tell my dad my car won't blow up and let me get it...lol

but i am for sure getting gears and exhaust (not sure what exhaust yet)

Maybe a chip? or not worth the cash?

thx

Gears + installation kit+ installation+ fixing speedo will eat up a lot of that $800. IMO the six can be made quick but if you are wanting to go fast, get a GT. If I had a six-popper I'd put some slick wheels on it and just keep it clean.

Get wheels that will fit both the six and your future gt. Save up for the gt so when you get it you can put new wheels on it that day.

Not everybody wants nitros. Some of us just want a cleaner running vehicle

yes a split port swap would give more power than those mods listed.

there's one teeny little problem with your list. The CB exhaust you have listed isn't for your model year....I'm hoping you meant to put down 94-98....
Otherwise the list looks good.

if your planning t get a Gt later on don't spend alota money in the engine, I was adament about the CAI because it helps the gas mileage, which atleast to me is worth the 70 bucks to save how much more 150-200 every 6 months, it also give you a nicer rumble at higher rpms until you get your Exhaust, other then that yea man get some wheels, and just pimp it out...girls don't care if your runnin low 10's wit ur car...they just want it to looks good, also Nitrous is for someone serious, if you don't know what ur doin don't mess with it, these guyz here all know what their doin, but for you it's not the best bet...

unless your planning to put different pistons in your going to mess your motor up bad putting nitrous in...your stock pistons esspiecally on a v6 will go as soon as u lay on the nitrous i had this problem before went out and got 8:1 compression pistons, nitrous works well with that compression ratio.
