i have a 2001 v6 and its under the shifter,it does feel like your car pulls a lot harder once you press the button when you are already going a little over 45 or close to that. i pressed it last week before i got on the freeway and accelerated to quickly and it sounded like my car was about to die,i was real scared and drove real slow home afterwards. the car is fine though.i like using it when im driving about 65 on the freeway.

typically a key indication that your OD is off is a little green light under the speedo that reads OD OFF.
