I don't know what your plans are, but unless it involves boost/nitrous and sticky tires you don't need a 8.8 rear end.

Regardless after gears my next mod would be either boost or nitrous to really make the car quicker.

if you want your stang to be quieter then for mufflers i would get magnaflow's...they are very quite at idle but can get a bit ricy at WOT

I do believe you'd be better off with 3.73's also. And ditto on the rear end; don't spend money you don't need to spend (unless your name is Spinz).

I ask myself this question a lot too, but no one can really tell you what to do next because when it comes down to it, it's your car and your wants at stake. Personally, I'm thinking about doing a MGW shifter as one of my first mods besides replacing the clutch with a King Cobra as soon as I got it, and then perhaps gears.

If you want the car to ride smoother, you may want to get a few suspension upgrades. I don't know much about suspension on these cars and I don't want to give bad advice, but I believe a good shock/strut/spring replacement would make it ride a hell of a lot better.

well if you think of it...its about the same price to get your 7.5 rearend to spin two tires with gears/bearings etc... than to get a 8.8, which is alot tougher than ur 7.5

so IMO i would get the 8.8 cuz who knows...you might wanna boost it or supercharger it later on

As far as a smoother ride Tokico Blues (shocks and struts) are great - I had them on my old stang and wished that I would have taken them off before it was sold. Springs of course would be your choice because it depends on if you are going to lower the car or not plus they make different springs for different types of driving.

As far as the 8.8" - I have been seening on several forums a sort of new trend of guys building up the stock 7.5" with great results and just as good of reliability. In fact there was one I seen last night where a guy had a Procharged 3.8 with over 350 rwhp and he said that the rear had never given him a problem and had many miles of abuse on it. - I will look that up and try to get a link to show you. I was going to do the same thing and swap to an 8.8 but with the expense and hassle of tracking one down especially around here I think I will be keeping my 7.5".

Just my .02 cents.

Since I don't own a V6, I didn't really know that; sorry for the bad advice if I gave any.

Well i do plan on running nitro in it, prbly starting with a 75 shot. For exhaust im thinking borla or something, i dont like the sound of magnas. For gears i was thinking 4.10 because i have an auto trans, opinions on that?

Everything you'll want to know about gears is described there. I don't believe it matters if you're tranny is auto or manual; I believe you should still go with 3.73's for an automatic. Like I said before, it's all up to you as far as what mods you make.

Personally, exhaust upgrades are near the top of the list for me also. I know Borla makes a damn good catback for the GT's, although it is a bit pricey. Think about what you want and need and go from there. And please, do your research.

Bah idk, i heard earlier from a few people to definatly got 4:10 gears for it, i mostly want my car to have more pull in lower gears, not too concerned about top end.

A 7.5 has the advantage of being much lighter than an 8.8. A 7.5 rear is a beautiful thing with the right choice in posi, the Detroit Trutrac is bullet proof.

it seems like there are more options for the 8.8". When i changed the gears and added the t-lok in my car there were a few ppl that carried 7.5" parts. EVERYONE carried stuff for the 8.8. I've only seen one t-lok/locker manufacturer for the 7.5 and it's FRPP.

anyways, i'd go with a good set of suspension upgrades or the MGW shifter. Or maybe some engine upgrades from supersixmotorsports.com.

So many abbreviations...

But seriously, my friend had magniflows on his v6 accord and I couldn't even hear it, at all. It was actually quieter than stock, it was weird. I'm sure it's different for mustangs though.

Verts have shitty bolt in ones from Ford to help stiffen them a bit. They don't compare to even the shitty aftermarket subframe connectors out there.

Yea, im definatly puttin exhaust after this, still not sure whether to get 3.73s or 4.10s . So thoughts on subframe connectors? Also if i lowered my car it would have to be a maximum of 1inch, cause i have lots of shitty areas here.

As far as the subframes on a vert - I have absolutely no clue whatsoever. Good thinking on the max 1" drop - I have the exact same problem, I live in the city/country so some roads aren't to bad and other are horrid - whats worse is most of the country roads are in better shape than those of the city.

For gears I say 3.73s strictly for gas - I just posted awhile ago about 3.73s and gas mileage and just by what some guys said there mileage dropped ot I would hate to see what 4.10s will do.

Im still kinda confused about all that, yes i did read the gear thread. Which gear ratio makes lower gears pull harder? And should i get a 8.8 rear, or just get t lok

4.10's will pull harder than 3.73's. 4.30's will pull harder than 4.10's. So on and so forth

I've been told 4.10s for auto, 3.73s for manual.

4.10's. 4.30's are freaking crazy but you probably won't be able to use the highway for long distances anymore

Your an auto car right, then get 4.10's for sure you have a pretty low 4th gear for cruising.

Like I said on the 8.8 vs 7.5 build. If your going to run sticky tires and drag race then you want a 8.8 for sure. If your not and because your an auto car, a 7.5 (which is lighter then the 8.8) is most likely the best way to go for you. Also an auto tranny isn't going to put nearly as much stress on a rear end as a manual car. So if it was me I would just go 4.10's and Tlok, and there is a set for sale in the classifieds right now, and then you will be good to go. I mean teal was pushing almost 400rwhp in his TT v6 and he only broke the posi when he was at the track drag racing on sticky tires.

Most of the automatic cars i've installed gears in got 4.10s just to put them on par with a stick shift with 3.73s. Automatic equipped 4 cylinder mustangs came from the factory with 3.73s to even them out with the 5 speed cars that had 3.45s.
