Default V6 fog lights

Hey I'm looking to get some foglights for my 03 v6, my question is do you have to buy a full harness, it would seem so but when I take my dash of there is a third plug next to the trac off plug, I know it's prolly for foglights but if I buy the oem switch and plug it in, what does it turn on? Does it just put power to a relay or fuse box location?
Thanks

Default foglights

so do your foglights come on when you hit the switch or when you turn on your parking lights, and do they turn off with high beams?

don't know about 03, but i have a 96 and it seems it is already wired for fog lights. my thought was if i ever get a pair i will go to the junkyard and pull a factory switch, then use the wires already hanging down there for the lights. not sure if it's routed through the fuse box though.

The early cars are pre-wired for the fogs, all you have to do is throw a fuse in, the switch and the fog lights themselves. The later ones need to be wired.

i hate spam!!!!

anyways...if u don't do that you should order the kit justin from vmptuning.com sells. it's reasonably priced and he includes EVERYTHING you need...even little zip ties to tie the wire up from what i remember.

you should need the fog lights, the wiring that goes from the lights to the fuse box under the hood (and the relay and such) and the lil switch for the inside. and the fuse.

I love my fogs. There great to just ride around with just the parking lamps on and them it just looks sinister.

haha agreed. I wanted to modify them so you can run your fogs without your parking lights on.

Default Foggies are worth it

I bought my fog lights from http://www.americanmuscle.com/clfogliset9m.html
Then I bought my harness from http://www.v6mustangstuff.com/lighting1.htm
It cost about $100 bucks total!! I did not use the OEM switch, as I am saving those spaces for other stuff.
The harness comes with instructions, and a nice tidy switch that I stuck under the steering wheel, so the light is not in my face when I drive. I also routed my power wire to my parking lights, so they go off when my parking lights do....they look great, took me about an hour and a half to install, but I love working on the car, so I was in no hurry.
