a tuner is good, but to really get some gains, i would get the 93 performance tune on it, and also upgrade your rear end gears to 4.10's and get a t-lock.

Spend your money on other mods first then get a tuner. That's what I would do. Its hard to beat the solid gains of a pulley set for the v6 cars.

he's got a point with the pullys, however the most impressive mod i did on my old V6 was 3.73 gears.

i think the 3.73's and t-lok were the best on my car so far...and the strut tower brace was a good one too, it strengthened up the front end a lil and looks cool...

tuners are cool for adjusting things like ur speedo to accomodate for the gears...but i didn't really notice much of anything :/ but that's not to say that it didn't add power, i had gone from a chip to the tuner, so i shouldn't notice much anyways.

Depending on the tuner they can leave the option open that lets you adjust extra parameters like WOT a/f ratio by adding or taking out fuel, timing to some extent, rev limiter, tire size, GEAR RATIO, and other stuff. So yeah you can change it in the tune if the tuner is setup to let the end user do that. Some places do not unlock that option for you so you get screwed and have to deal with them every time you need to change something like what gears you have etc...

So does the Xcal2, but you just need to make sure whoever you get it from does not lock out those options. Some places sell them with the user adjustable functions, like those ones I talked about, locked out so you can not change anything.

if you talk to american muscle, they can leave it open for you.

i would get the xcal 2. its cheaper, since the 3 is out, but everyone i know with a new edge uses the xcal 2. also, americanmuscle.com has free tunes for life.

Default WOW!!

so i couldnt wait and i uploaded the tune from my sct x3 tuner, it included the 93 octane tune and i turned off the traction control. and all i can say is WOW!!!!!! i'm driving a totally new car!!.
I was kinda dissapointed of my car because compared to other cars that i drove, mine semmed 2 sluggish but it all changed with the tune, i dont need to step on the gas as much and the car will GO! it also made the shifts way faster, its like i had all that power but it was restricted and the tune unleashed it! it sure is more fun to drive my car now..

Yeah, the difference in throttle response is real nice.

YES! like SWITHC said: they throttle response is way better, if u dont care paying for the 93 octane fuel go for it. and if you drive an automatic like i do the gear shifting its alot faster. plus american muscle leaves all the tuning options unlocked so you can play with it!

find a dyno day here soon when they do like 3 runs for cheap and test that A/F ratio. It is prolly safe but i always make sure.

what did they set the timing at? for instance the 19 degrees timing in sig is a 93oct tune and 17 degrees is my street tune with 91oct.

Well your in the V6 section so you might not get alot of hits on that. But there are many many many GT's with tunes on them. I have a custom dyno tune on mine. Made a really good difference in power and economy. Though mine is not an off the shelf tune.
