Exclamation WARNING! Spark plugs!

Guys, a heads up from a fellow Mustang owner (me) that just learnt a lesson the hard way.

A couple of weeks ago I put a new set of Bosch Platinum 4s in my 05 V6, because the car wasn't running as smooth as it should (just bought the car, 52k on stock plugs). Well, now with the Bosch plugs, the car runs like ****! It pretty much detonates every time the car is under load, through out all rpms. I'm off to advanced auto store for a set of NGK TR5-1s. The SCT2 tuner should be here in a week or so also, and will be tuned with higher octane to hopefully eliminate the detonation problem.

Bottom line, stay away with Bosch platinum 4s, its a hard $70 lesson.

That's because expensive plugs don't make you faster. Some thing many people just don't want to take advice on.

yup, I agree and all those extra ground straps are nothing but pathways for detonation

Finally, sets of NGK plugs arrived. After re-tapping the cross threaded hole and installing the plugs (Gapped at 0.04), the engine immediately runs a lot smoother. But after a half an hour cruise i notice that there's still a very minor bit of knocking at low rpm, so hopefully that'll be resolved after the SCT2 tuner (and JLT CAI) arrives and the 93 Octane tune. The mustang is only used as a weekend cruiser, so I'm happy with spoiling her with 93 Octane .

After all that, its the 3.73 gears + T-lok, 2 inch lower, MGW short shifter, black strips and I'll be a happy mustang owner!
