My advice is to cut the crap out. Redlining constantly IS NOT HEALTHY. And if you've been doing that to a car that's got 140,000mi, I wouldn't expect that to last another year. I definitely would not be doing mods to a car with that many miles, either. Whether it be shifter, springs, etc...Save the money for your next car. You may need one WAY sooner than you think.

depends on how good you take car of them. you have 140K miles on it. if you keep redlining and burning out and ****, don't expect it to last much longer. how ever if you cut that crap out, you will have something for a long time. the car is a 2000, so its not crazy old. besides, you have a sixer, you are doing one-wheel peels... no one is impressed.

as far as modifying the car... do plenty of research. a good exhaust will make the car sound good, but makes little to no power, same as with a cold air intake, headers and a mid-pipe.

the first mods i'd do if i were you, is get rear end gears done, and a hand-held tuner. you have a manual, so i'd go get an SCT tuner and 3.73s. a new short throw shifter is also a fun mod because it gives you smoother shifts and a more "race car" feel.

as far as susupension goes, look on stangsuspension.com. they've got some good starter kits for your car.

good luck and welcome to the forums.

If your car is in good running order and you keep the maintenance up on it, it should last much longer then one more year. 140k isn't that many miles.

Welcome to the forums.

Punctuation can go a long way my friend. Don't abuse the car, keep up the maintenance and it should last you a while.

Welcome. I think you hate periods as do most guys with girls I would not be raging on a car that has that many miles. I would just lower it get a chin spoiler for the front and nice wheels, sound system and thats it. Any performance mods on it will just wear out the engine sooner. At least with visual mods you could transfer to another stang like a V8.

do bolt-ons and other things like that which you dont have to go inside the motor for and you should be fine.

you can get to around 200rwhp with full bolt-ons which is a mid-high 14sec car. i did 14.79 with 195rwhp w/ 2.1 60ft.

run it until your motor gives out then find a 4.2L F150 motor to swap in. same block and everything so should be a straight forward and easy swap. this motor can be found if looked for with low miles for 500-800 dollars.

buying a v8 will give you power but a 4.2 has almost the same potential of a 2v v8 obviously a v8 can get a little more but a 4.2 will get you to the point where it's not a car for the road anymore
