Help w/ Headers
Ok so i have a 1996 3.8L stang and right now i have an x-pipe from Pypes and Flowmaster 40 series mufflers. I want to put long tube headers on from MAC, so how do i go about that?
also after i put on the headers can i keep the x-pipe or will that be kinda replaced by the length of the headers. If thats the case what would be a good exhaust to run from that.
Keep in mind i live in Tennessee and we no vehicle inspections nor does anyone care of we have Catalytic converters.
thanks for any help you can offer.

long tube headers will generally only fit a mid-pipe from the same company, so unless MAC still makes V6 headers, you may have to get a new mid-pipe.
however, coming from someone that used to own a 94 3.8L mustang, i'd not bother. the stock shorties do not restrict any power and should not be replaced until they brake. i'd save your money and start looking for a turbo... plenty of room in that enginebay to put a turbine in it.

Mac still makes Long tube headers for the v6 cars. And if you want to run those long tubes you need their shorty H-pipe that bolts up to the long tubes. As for your catback if its a bolt on catback, that bolts onto the X pipe like a GT catback then that will bolt right up to the mid pipe.
