supercharger question
ok... i went to steeda.com and looked at their superchargers and i found one BUT i got confused... at the bottom it says FORD MUSTANG meaning all models (and whatever year is listed) but when i saw the list of superchargers they had it says GT AND/OR COBRA (for example:Paxton Novi Supercharger - GT - '00-'03.... my V6 mustang is 2000)
so i would like to know... does it matter if my V6 mustang gets a GT or Cobra supercharger?... but if you have a better supercharger in mind for me then please let me know
sorry for such a dumb question i'm new with superchargers

Yes it matters because your car has a totally different motor and thus needs different mounting brackets, intake ducting, fuel mods, etc... You would need a kit that fits your cars motor and year.
I will also add that I think before you go and buy a supercharger (assuming you really are about to) that you need to stop and read up on how a car works before doing something like this when you have no idea about simple things like does this work on my car. Keep in mind in no way am I trying to be a dick don't take it that way at all. I just want you to understand how things work before you get in over your head. That's all I'm trying to say.

Good I didn't want you going out having one installed and have no idea what was going on under the hood. Its not something I would recommend to someone. So back on subject the ATI Procharger setup is bad ***. Teal Beast who now has a TT v6 on here used to have the Procharger kit and with just that kit at 11psi and with full exhaust made 309rwhp with a bone stock 3.8 motor with just those mods during the summer heat here in oralndo.

oh no they aren't 05.. the mustang use to be my brothers till he passed it down to me... he got those rims in 2000 when he first got the car... but i'm changing them to a 2003 Cobra rims

definitely get that 11psi kit, it makes some great numbers. Look up stangchargers profile( i am pretty sure that is his name). He has some more work done to his car, P&P + H/C/I, full exhaust, and a 15psi set up and he is running like 430rwhp or something like that. You can make some real good numbers with that kit and can build on it to make some even better numbers.

He also has the D1 which is a more efficient blower then the base blower that comes with the ATI kit. Its still a great setup and makes awesome power. You should be able to walk most GT's and other cars in your area with that kit. Teals car would walk me pretty hard when I was off the bottle.

my next step is sheet metal upper intake and ported lower. right now i have 100% stock intakes.
but yes procharger is the best option in centrifical blowers. vortech is great quality but cost alot more if you want intercooled setup.
11psi procharger kit, injectors. this is what you need. the kit comes with a fuel pump good enough for alot of power.
the guy i know with the d1psc just made 507rwhp @18psi and still had some bugs to workout. he should easily be over 520rwhp when there fixed if not more.

omg...... well... i'm playing to save up to at least $7,000... that should be enough to complete upgrade my V6 right?

or you can buy a crate motor from SSM fully built with stage 3 goodies and forged internals.
personally i would buy a 4.2L rotating assembley w/ forged internals. bore the motor and buy a single turbo/supercharger setup to go on it. and just run low boost until you can upgrade tranny.

Just curious,
But whats the deal with these procharger superchargers?
Every picture Ive seen of one...it doesnt look like a conventional super charger thats mounted on top of the moter...instead Ive seen a wierd altnernator looking thing bolted up to something at the bottom front of the engine...
Am I retarded or is my curiousity justified?
Mind you all Im no "super mechanic" I didnt get into cars until I was like..17...and Im 3 months away from being 20 now, so I got into the game a little late. So all my info I get from you guys or google. Haha.

It's just a different kind of supercharger your thinking of the roots or twinscrew supercharger like a whipple or a kenny bell. A procharger is a centrofugal *misspelled* supercharger like a vortec or paxton

but i will say this, it is easy as hell to drain the self contained oil from the bottom of the car. vortechs were not self contained so prolly mounted it on the top for that reason.
plus on v6's this option is available because of all the space infront of the engine.
this is my guess.

if i were you, i'd definetly look into doing a swap with a motor from supersix.

hahahaha... you know what i did for when i was building my sixer? i figured out what i wanted, how much it would all cost, and then doubled it!! and you know what, i'm glad i did, because i hit snags in my build and i needed the extra cash.

if i don't hit what i want with this, a D1-sc won't be far away.
