V6 3.8L 02Mustang Exhaust
Quick question, im looking to convert my 02 3.8L v6 mustang from a single exhaust to a dual exhaust. And was wondering if i should get 1999 - 2004 Ford Mustang LX 3.8L or should i get a V6 Dual Exhaust Adapter Kit and a 1999 - 2004 Ford Mustang GT/MACH1/Bullitt ????
Thanks for the help and info!!!

It really doesn't matter its up to you. Neither are going to add power its all about sound. Your first link just attaches to the Y pipe very easily. Your second link just changes the Y into an H format. Many people get "true dual" which is straight pipes back from each end of the headers to a separate muffler and then out to the tail pipes. You can also remove your Y pipe completely and put in a custom made midpipe preferably an H (not an X. Or you can buy an H pipe but it MUST be made for a v6) and then any GT catback. Overall it really won't make a difference none are going to add any power and its all just sound. If you are planning on adding power in the future like a S/C or something around those lines then you will want to ditch the Y pipe and go the route of the H or straight back. If your just doing it for looks then just get one that attaches to the Y pipe like your first link. Youtube is handy to figure out what your car will sound like.

It won't be noticeable it will just be less restrictive and will flow better which will come in handy if you decide to add larger hp in the future.

Yea then i guess id ill go with the adapter hpipe kit and 1999 - 2004 Ford Mustang GT/MACH1/Bullitt since i will eventually be getting a cold air intake and a bbk 65mm throttle body

go with the cheapest catback to me. after listening to every video of v6's they all started sounding the same to me. lol. unless you go all out with (LT headers/mid pipe/cat-back).
EDITx2** i'll sell you my setup if you want. $200+Shipping. it's Flowmaster 2-Chamber catback. i have an exhaust clip on here somewhere. here's the clip of it. http://i269.photobucket.com/player.s...Picture198.flv
the install price for me was $150 and it was to cut out the Y-pipe and add on the catback from the cats(no crossover).

the adapter just attaches to the Y to add an extra exit so you never remove the Y in that case

Your best bet is to go to local exhaust shop and see how much they want for a true dual setup made. You do not need a crossover pipe on the v6 so don't bother having them make an H pipe for you just true duals which is one separate pipe for each cylinder head. They are more then likely going to quote you for flowmasters stay the **** away from flowmasters.

That is wrong. What it does is takes the stock Y you cut it and weld on the H pipe adaptor which turns the Y into an H pipe. Granted its a shitty way to do it and you keep the stock cats so its a route I would never recommend.

get whatever you want. Don't listen to people hating on flowmasters. If they were as shitty as people claim the company wouldn't be in business anymore.

Because its popular doesn't mean they are good. Do they sound good? sure they do, but everything has them from boats, to trucks, to wheelchairs. And yes they dont flow super awesome. There are many other brands that flow alot more air. steeda is made by borla by the way. I mean its up to you do whatever muffler you want, I just try to get people to move on from the slowmaster everyone has been brain washed to love.
