Exhaust
Headers or exhaust first?
|
i like the sound of MAC Longtube headers, O/R H-Pipe, and Flowmaster 2-chamber catback myself.
their would be no point in getting headers then have to wait to get a Catback. plus you can keep the stock headers on until you get more power. |
yep, no need to replace the headers except for sound. Pick out a good sounding cat back.

what would be some good headers for me?
I already have true duals with a custom H-pipe with spin techs. I wouldnt mind making my 6er louder. But im afraid itll sound to ricey. any thoughts? |

MAC's FTW!

ive heard macs have fitment issues, im going with pacesetter, another question, without any back pressure, does that hurt our engines perf.?
im looking into exhaust,, i was going to do long tubes, to shorty h pipe, to flowmaster 40's and dump those, would that hurt my power at all? what kinda increase am i lookign at? |
Bwesky, A lack of back-pressure is said to hurt the V6 engine but I have installed the pacesetter kit with straightpipes after my cats and have had no problem with a loss of torque. Without having any factual evidence (dyno sheets) to back up what I just said, I can only tell you that I don't feel any difference in torque. I have talked to numerous mechanics and engineers on the subject and most have reasured me that the catalytic converters provide all of the backpressure that a v6 engine needs to remain efficient.

hey bro, if you wait and by the end of next week i'll have my new setup on. right now i have stock headers, cats and flowmaster 2 chamber catback. i posted up a video on here http://i269.photobucket.com/player.s...Picture198.flv thats it. thats with what i have now just a 2-chamber flowmaster catback w/ cats still on.
i orderd Mac Longtube Headers and a Shorty o/r H-pipe. so they will be on by the end of next week and i'll have a video up. |
ite cool, just keep us posted (by us i mean me) :D
|
MAC and someone else have headers.
But honestly stick with mid/catback. headers arent needed until you imporve the flow of the engine first. |
Ok well thanks for all the input guys. Does anyone have the steeda catback dual exhaust? I just want to know how that sounds.
