Default Auto Transmission ?

ok is it good or bad to leave ur stang on "N" n then give it sum gas to at least 3000rpms, n then bring it down to "D". i think its called stalling. so is this good or bad for my transmission? i heard from 2 friends that its not bad for ur car but then again i heard from my other 2 friends that it is bad. dont know wat to believe, ive done it a couple of times but i was like a 1500rpm, really not that much.

It's bad for your trans, just foot brake it.

You know how to do a brake stand burnout? Basically that but don't hold the gas down enough to actually make the tire spin, let go of the brake and floor it when you launch.

You hold down on the brake and press the gas to raise the rpms up to usually around 1500, before traction breaks, and you can launch it like that. Thats assuming your doing the neutral drop to get a good launch durring drag racing. I never did it in my auto but I figured it would just induce alot of spinning bcuase I would have traction problems when I foot breaked it.

yeah I wouldn't do the rev to 3000 in N and then drop into D, bad stuff will happen after a few too many of those. You can try the foot brake thing and see if it works for you.

you may have staged too far forward but who ever was driving that GT should have the car taken away a 16.9 is absolutely horrible, there are no words for how bad of a time that is in that car.

friend of mine destroyed his tranny doin that to a front wheel civic the tranny just crapped out. If your gunna do something like that do brakestands at stop lights.

one foot on break
one foot hovering on gas
light turns green punch gas and let up the brake

from a dig that is the best way for me. Just play wit it a little bit.
