its rated at 20mpg city and whatever they rate it at is usually grandma driving so usually you never get the estimated. From what I've seen there are quite a few people getting better MPG on a GT than a v6 lol. The most I've seen are about the same though. GT is rated at 17 city

cool thanks. I usually drive kinda fast so that might be why. But I also discovered a crack in the radiator coolant tank and when i checked it there wasnt much water in there. I know engines lose a lot of power when theyre too hot.

my driving is 90% highway and ive been getting ~20mpg lately. that's the reason the mustang will be leaving my driveway in the coming months.

In my '98 sixxer I got about 17-18 at the most. Power to weight ratio works in favor of the GT, not the 6.

ive been getting 80mpg for every 1/4 tank in my V6 by keeping the RPMs as close to 2000 during all of my driving aka granny driving.

OMG you guys that is not anywhere close to normal.

i get 17mpg and 22mpg highway in mine now.

you guys should be getting mid 20's without a problem.

also don't forget that the government has ethenol in some gas at certain gas stations. that will lower gas mileage no matter what they say. They now have to post if they have it in their gas or not. be careful.

or get your car tuned or a better tune. these cars are rated for 22city/27highway..

I get about 22 in 80/20 city/hwy driving. Not bad.

Funny thing is that the first quarter tank the needle moves a lot slower than during the last quarter tank. Is this normal?

Next time you fill your tank, reset the trip-o-meter doohicky. Drive. Next time fill up, divide the amount of miles you drove by the amount of gallons of gas you just put in the car = miles to the gallon.

I reset the trip every time I fill up and then the next time I fill up I take the miles I've gone on that tank and divide it buy the number of gallons I need to fill it back up.
