don't bother with the gears if you don't put in the t-lok.

plus he already has DR's so if he gets gears and no T-lok we will all have to smack him

I'd get a Torsen style diff instead since they don't have clutches that wear out and can be used as a "brake assisted" locker. However, a T-Lok is cheaper so for price sake, it may be not be worth it to get a Torsen style diff.

Lol..for some reason gears and t-lok keep getting pushed back in my list. I heard Rangers had 3.73 and t-loks in their 7.5's so I may go jack the rear out of one in a junkyard or something.

could. i think out the door, labor/parts i got mine done for 800. seemed like it was $500 for parts and 3 for labor. right around there. that way u know where that rearend has been. just gotta save that coin.

V6_Mustang_Power 04-10-2008 06:16 PM

mmmk im going to get the t-lock. i can get it from stangmods.com for 190$. so the next nice Sunday they are going in.

v6'stang 04-10-2008 06:19 PM

not bad!

V6_Mustang_Power 04-10-2008 06:24 PM

how much do just gears weigh? i orderd 4.10 gears and it says the package is 15lbs

01FR500 04-10-2008 08:44 PM

15lbs seems kinda light. I Shipped some to a guy once and I think they were 27lbs, 8.8 though but I wouldn't think there would be that much of a difference. Could be the package weight of my hood that I'm thinking about though. One of the two, or both were 27lbs.

V6_Mustang_Power 04-10-2008 08:49 PM

ahh ic, i thought that seemed heavy.. but idk, never knew the weight of gears before or held them. ahwell. i expected them to be 5-10lbs at the most.
