What switch are you talking about?

cantgetlikeme 10-28-2007 06:11 AM

the ignition switch

How the heck can you tell? It is an enclosed valve. Anyway, if the valve opens partially just when the ignition is on, I really have no idea. BUT, I can tell you that it should be open at idle....probably not all the way. It will open further with the a/c on.

it shouldnt be fully open because your only idling...but i agree, how in the heck are you able to see it?

i was talkin about with the car not running and the valve taken off to check it

WaterDR 10-30-2007 08:25 PM

Dude....phew...you are killing me - lol. If you take the valve off and run the car, the valve position is not gonna know what to do. The ECU throttles the valve open and closed to maintain idle, so with it pulled out, it is not representative.

Not sure if that is true. When the car is under load, I think the IAC is closed.
