we kinda need to know what you drive the miles on it when the last maintance was done etc.. before i would recomend anything.

Redrum 08-24-2007 05:39 PM

o the last time i did a full tune up was in april it was before i drive from cali to texas the car had 71,254miles now it has 76.456mile on it. its a 2001 mustang

you dont have to tune up the car after only 5k miles. thats a waste of time and money.

Redrum 08-24-2007 07:07 PM

100k sounds good...or if the car starts to act strange.

Redrum 08-24-2007 07:14 PM

get a haynes manual. Change the oil every 3k miles if you are paranoid. every 5k to if you are using synthetic oil.

yeah get a haynes.
ford oil change non synthetic every 5. synthetic should last much longer.
really... i may be ridiculed for this but what ever. any way conventional oil can last up to 10,000 miles no problem but its better to change it.

zigzaggthefag321 08-25-2007 07:33 AM

yes

spike_africa 08-25-2007 08:16 AM

Do not change your oil every 3k miles thats plain stupid and wasting money. Even regular oil is fine till 5k miles no problem.

hence the "if you are paranoid" comment after I said that.

v6'stang 08-25-2007 01:39 PM

then why do most oil change places and dealerships say to change every 3k?

Because if you change it more often they get more money out of you.

Redrum 08-25-2007 07:10 PM

ok then i'm going to wait til i hit 78 or 80,000miles. But i still need shocks.

If you dont care just get cheap replacement from autozone. The they have supercheap pads and shocks/struts. If you want some better stopping power they have decent ceramic pads at most autoparts places too. If you want better more performance orientated shocks/struts your gonna have to order them.

What do you want really out of the car?

Redrum 08-26-2007 08:17 PM

i just want to stop quick when i have too here in texas there is a lot of people dont know how to drive. good shock too there is a lot of holes in the street here
