Default Cai

I want the look of a CAI but i dont want to spend the money for one. So i was looking on ebay and found some cheap ones. Do you reconize(sp) any of these and do they look legit or just cheap crap??

if you are just wanting one for looks then just buy one of those. it will probably be kind of cheap but it will do the job of getting air in. performance wise an expensive one is a waste of money.

ya i knew performance wise a CAI on a 6 doesnt do anything. I just want to make sure those wont throw any codes or jack up my motor. I think its funny how they "Guarantee" 5-10 rwhp by adding one of those...

I have one similar to the top one on the list and it works fine, it required some minor cutting of the pipe to make it angle correctly, and it didn't come with a vacuum hose, but works good.

Do you really need to get a tune if you put in a CAI? I heard somewhere that you had to, but it's the same MAF so i dont know why it would make a difference

no you dont have to, you probably read that you need to with the 05+ sixers.

I had a cheapo eBay CAI before I installed the shaker on my V6 and it was fine (no tune required) but its just aluminum and need to be polished to keep shiny,,,the pricey ones are chrome from what I understand so easier to keep looking good
