Default under drive pulleys

what exactly do these do is my question basically haha... Ive read that they can cause some of the car functions, such as water pumps etc. to not function up to par, is there any truth in that?

Any info can help, thanks!

it slows the water pump, alt, power steering etc.. down a bit to free up hp. I have some on mine no problem with a/c,battery, etc... They dont make them so underdriven that it hurts anything. Only problem would be if you had a monster stereo you could have charging problems.

yeah actually i just put a pulley kit on my car and it deffinetly does help out a lot with horsepower i havent had any problems charging or using my a/c everything works the same. but i deffinetly recommend getting one for the price and the gain you get out of it.

Yeah here is a very good and well known brand for your model.

I have the ASP kit for my car that I got from VMPtuning or stangmods cant remember but if you are worrying about undercharging with the kit because of a stereo system, then you can also get a 18% Overdrive Alternator pulley with the 25% Underdrive one and a shorter belt. So more free power, no charging problems even w/ stereo.

I'm having a local shop (delkperformance.com) put me one on in the next couple weeks... I see it as a performance mod that really doesnt change much nor vary much from stock. Looking forward to it.

when you get pullies stick to the 25% pulley set, the dif in 25 and 42% are neglidgable, and if you go 42% then you may run into charging issues in an auto and it will limit your ability to do future stereo mods, unless of course you do the three overdrive pullies that you need to make your car run right with the 42's ....in short i wouldnt recommend the 42's unless you plan to JUST race your car...they're just not practical for dd~
