would it past smog?
ok so i have a 2002 v6 and i change the piping to a dual 40's flomaster exuast, i had them do the H pipe and with pipe down. it sounds good but im's still not happy about it. what i wanna kno is would i still pass smog check if i take out 2 of the cat's i have. i know that the v6 has 4 cat's and GT only have 2 is that true. if it is let me kno, i kno it's a stupid question but help me out here guys. and also would it be better to get 3" piping?

ok here it is. v6 has 2 cats and 2 resonators. I dont know where you live so I will say what I know about california. In cali you cant change anything on the cats or resonators it has to say stock for that could be diffrent where you live.
On the piping 2 1/2 is just fine. the 3in will be louder but not at all worth it. you will also lose torque. just go with 2 1/2 but if you want 3 do what makes you happy.

yeah i live in cali, and that suck to kno, so in other state u can mess around with ur cat's with no problem? if so then cali suck when it comes to modding ur car. so even if i put a gt cat back my v6 won't pass smog?

We do not have resonators on our cars stock. We do in fact have 4 cats. No you can not take two of them off. Removing any properly working emmisons piece will make you not pass smog if not by the sniffer deffinitly by visual if they are doing their job.
2 1/2 piping is fine so is 2 1/4. 3" is a bit much but it won't kill you, it won't make it louder though.

so wat should i do if i want my v6 to be louder and have that muuscle sound, cuz right now, it's not loud from far away but once the car past by it makes the groupd kinda vibrate a bit. it feels like the sound is all in the ground. my set up right now is that i had them run an H pipe with 40's flowmaster and pipe down. would installing a headers works?

It'll change the sound yes but it won't be worth it. And loud is necessarily good.

Nope. Resonators are actually a type of muffler. SLP uses resonators for example. But no we actually have 4 cats and one muffler stock.

any stock midpipe on a mustang (wether it be a v6, gt, or cobra) have 4 cats, 2 smaller catylitic converters(front) and 2 larger cats (rear). when you have an after market mid, there are only 2 high flow cats or no cats at all. a resonator is a type of muffler (SLP LM1 and LM2, Magnapacks, Stingers).
