Automatic is not a problem, per se. The biggest thing is the car is not as fun to drive, but if you are having fun driving it who cares?
As per dual exhaust... stang00 had flows on his 99v6 and was not impressed, but my 95v6 with mac dualies was much louder and deeper... and cheap too. Air intakes on sixes are often debated, wether or not they do anything at all. Most say just drop in a K&N fliter, take off your intake silencer and call it a day. Honestly, I had an ebay CAI on my old six and the power gain was the slightest bit, but the sound is cool, so it works out, especially if you only spend 50 bux. If I am not mistaken the throttle body on your six is not a point of restriction, and you wont see any gaisn by going any larger. Some heads and some cams would do you a world of good, although I am no expert on v6 tuning. There is little if any hostility around here when it comes to v6ing, but it is usually more cost efficient to go with a v8... unless you can get your parts on the cheap, used superchargers and the like. We have a bunch of v6 members on the board, so welcome, some use nitrous, others have gone turbo. Crazay

As for the intake, IMO they're all the same, the filter is all that matters for a V6, I just went with an Ebay CAI and am going to replace the filter with a K&N later, would have spent no more than 80$ by the time I get that done.

Oh I'm Sure you'll have fun with this..
So I'm new to the forums, and I'm fairly new with Mustangs, I'm looking at boosting up my v6 a little, and I'm not too sure as to what brands and exactly what I should do.. I'm sure theres already threads like this, but instead of browsing through all of them, I figured I'd post another.
So basically I've got a 02 Mustang v6 3.8l AUTOMATIC (yea I know thats not going to be a good thing..) its all stock, I got it as a graduation present this past June..
I for sure want an exhaust, which is pretty obvious, I'm looking to go dual exhausts, but I'm not sure as to what brand I should go, I was figuring Flowmaster..
I also want an air intake, again, I'm not sure as to what brand to go with that
And while I'm at it, a throttle body, or atleast a throttle body spring to get rid of that wire..I'm hoping I can go into an auto parts store to get the spring, but I'm not sure..
Im hoping to get some positive opinions on what I should do.. not "Go trade that in and get a GT"
Thanks for your time

As far as the exhaust goes, I would like a good sound, but I also want it for good performance, I was reading a thread earlier about exhausts and if I read it correctly, MACs don't put out as well of a performance? Correct me if I'm wrong.
I will definately be looking into a MAC, but I'm going to continue to leave my options for it open for about another month. (My 18th birthday is coming up, and I will have plenty of cash to invest into my car)
Yea I already checked into the k&n filter, its something like 55 dollars here, but I definately plan on ATLEAST buying that and taking out that rubber strip limiting my airflow.
A friend of mine drives a v6, and works for ford, hes trying to help me out, but he does some shady things with his car and when he smogs i beleive hes putting all his stock parts back on, which seems like alot of work to me..
As for the supercharger, which would be better to go? Supercharger, Procharger, or Turbo? I was watching some videos, and quite a few stangs are running either a turbo, or twin turbos.
Also, would a chip be good for me? If so, I figured I'd invest in a X-Cal2 , I beleive thats what its called..
Headers is another thing I am lookin at, but again, I don't know a thing about brands, as far as what would be better for me, ect.
Thanks for your guys' feedback.

Don't worry abou the TB because you don't have any major power adder. As far as the exhaust, everyone I've talked to said MAC is the best for the sixer and that's what I'm planning on getting. If you get the o/r h-pipe and the catback then you'll either need to buy a GT bumper or buy hangers which you can get at any local Ford dealership. Even though it's pricey, get a GT bumper because it looks a lot better on the 99-04's. Then for the CAI just get the one off of AM.
You don't need to buy a FIPK from K&N, it'll only help a substantial amount if you have a s/c or anything like that. Gears and a t-lock are really good. If you get gears and a t-lock then you need to get a tuner and have it tuned. If all you get is the CAI and/or the exhaust then you really don't NEED to have it done but it would add a few horses.
As far as whether you should get a turbo or s/c, I'd talk to TealBeast. He's got TT system in his sixer and is pushing almost 400 horses. He's goin' to know a lot more about that than I will.
Good luck with your sixer and give those 4.6's some hell!

yeah the third post is the real post, I have no idea how that happened.

i was so confused when i opened the thread also....

At first I thought Ghosttalker was just preaching about the V6 and then realized that he didn't make the topic....weird ****, my post is also above the original.

FIPK is the high-flow intake that K&N makes which will run you around 250 bucks. CAI stands for Cold Air Intake which is the same thing as the K&N FIPK, just a lot cheaper. The FIPK would probably only be better if you had a s/c or turbo and even then I don't think it would make all that much of a difference.

I got the K/N FIPK for $196.00 shipped from cardomain. It's an excellent mod albeit some claim issues with sputtering during decelleration. Personally, I've been very happy with mine so far. It's a mod you can feel from day 1.
Once I switched to the spintech exhaust, I noticed it even more. Everything just flows better.
