Default Finally Got my New V6, Have a quick Question.

Well, If you remember me I had a 94 V6 3.8 with High High Miles on it,
So, I bought a 99 v6 3.8 with 50,000 Miles on it, And I got mostly everything with the 99 car, Transmission differentials etc, Im curious what I need for the Swap, If there are certain things i need to pick up for the 99 engine to go in the 94.

Talk to Teal_beast or Justin from VMP, i think those two will be able to help you out the most with your swap.

so your swaping the 99 3.8 into the 94 car right?

If so you will need the engine harness off the old motor (the connectors will need to be swapped from the new motor to the old harness.) this is a simple cut slipce rewire job. You need to take the fuel rail form both cars and combine them so that the 99 rails connect to the 94's FRP so you can hook it up to your return style fuel system. (the 99 rail cant be used without this mod and the 94 doesnt work on the 99 motor alone). YOu have to add another temp sensor in the coolante pipe in the manifold as the 94 uses two sensors and the 99 uses one(hence why you need to add one for the 94's extra coolant sensor, i took the bleed screw off the 99 and tapped it for the 2nd sensor on the 99 motor on Teals car. You also need to swap the 94's cam postion sensor (CPS) from the 94 to the 99.

there is more that will come to me.

Spike knows what he is talking about, we did my car at his house about a year and a half ago.

Main points are you need the Engine and harness and fuel rail.

If you want to be fancy you can swap in the 94 cam, and use the 99 rearend.

(This is because the 94 came with a more agressive cam (nothing crazy) and the 99+ came with a better rearend gear ratio(i think the 94 had 2.73 and the 99 had 3.08 or 3.27))

I believe you are correct.
However, he might want to look into swapping out his 2.73's to 3.73's or something. But having the 94 cams would be nice... my old car (95 v6) sounds good with stock cams...
