Catless v6?

I have a question for everyone. I have a sixer with true dual flowmasters, no crossover, and stock cats. Changing the exhaust is not happening, so don't even start to rip on my flowmasters. However, I was wondering if you guys would recommend removing the cats on a sixer. I just don't want to do it and have it sound rice...what do you guys think will happen?

I think almost everyone with a V6 removes their cats when they do new exhausts, hell, I will... some people say the V6's sound good with the cats but all I can do is ask you how your car sounds right now? Got an audio clip or somethin?

the v6 will never sound GOOOD, just . . less bad sometimes :)

just pull the cats and get some more power out of it :pepper:

its just going to make it louder and flow better for more power. I say cut em off.

but watch out for emmissions

Go ahead take them out. If you dont like it replace or put in some new high flow cats. IMO im not going catless until i get LTs or lil better airflow from the engine.

Ok, thats all kinda what I thought, I just don't want it to sound bad if i remove them. Right now it sounds pretty good in lower RPM's, but in the higher range, it gets pretty weak and airy.

Sounds weak and airy in the higher RPM's? I think mines about exact opposite of yours...only time it sounds decent is when I'm in the high RPM's..but then again I have the stock, terrible exhaust

i have a stock ford dual exhaust that came of a gt with less than 1000miles on it an I can honestly say It sounds deep and nice throughout the rpm range I just wish it was a bit louder :(

oh ya and if ya take the cats off post how it sounds because I'm thinking about either removing the cats or different exhuast.
