Default Which Header Gaskets?

For those of you with headers on your V6, which gaskets did you use: the ones that came with the headers, Ford, etc? The general concensus is that the Ford gaskets are the best for the modular V8s, and I wasn't sure what everyone thought about the gaskets for the V6s. Randy has quoted me $20 for a pair of Ford gaskets, which makes me believe that they are different than their modular counterparts. He does not have them in stock to look at, and if they are superior to the gaskets that usually come with the headers (I'm getting MACs btw) then I will order some Ford gaskets. If the supplied gaskets are ok, then I won't worry about it. Just let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

Fords header gaskets are outrageously expensive. You will pay 100+ bucks for all 4, and yes you need 4 because they come as a 2 peice design for each side. Well, thats how mine were... unless Ford Racing offers different ones which randy quoted you on.

Go order some BBK ones for 20 bucks, or get the ones randy quoted you on. They are cardboard stamped with aluminum in the middle for the BBKs. They are much easier to install and set right as well. Id rather have Fords than BBKs though, if they are closely designed.

I am looking gaskets for my other car, a 95 V6. Randy quoted me $20 for a pair, so I am assuming that they not exactly like (material wise) as the V8 gaskets, but if MAC gives the paper ones, then for $20, I'm sure it would be worth it to go with Ford.

Mine were the tripple metal stamped ones which I believe were oem from Ford, not Ford Racing. I paid 100 bucks for mine, and I had no choice because my headers went on that morning at 8, and I was at ford waiting at 8am. Brothers performance screwed up my order but thats in a different thread...

So yea, go with the ford ones randy quoted you on. Anything like that is almost always better to go with OEM.
