Default Exhaust

Once again im trying to figure out the best way to make my v6 sound as loud as possible without taking the exhaust off or getting side exhaust and was thinking some headers of some kind an x pipe or an H pipe and a catback and in missouri i have to have cats and i dont care what it costs

I dont know how loud its going to be, but im just buying the mac o/r H-pipe and some flowmasters. Im not going to go with a cat-back just muffler off the h-pipe.

The ONLY way your gonna run a offroad midpipe is if you have long tube headers. If not it will sound like complete rice ***. It will be loud but not in a good way.

Then you have loads of options!!!! pick and choose. Also i wouldnt reccomend getting 2.5 exhaust unless you plan on modding alot. You will have no back pressure which will result in a bad idle sound. You dont need to have a crossover pipe on a v6. our left and right cylinders fire at the same time which evens things out. So a exhaust shop can build one to your specifications. I say get 2-2 1/4 exhaust.

95bstallion, are you saying that a midpipe on a V6 doesnt improve perfomance at all. That v6 guys should just go with a cat-back and nothing else unless we have LTs???

I'm saying a crossover pipe such as a h-pipe or x-pipe wont do anything for you. To have true duals you need to run sraight pipes back, but there is always the option of the y pipe adapter.

Theres nothing wrong with it. I was just stating you dont have to have a crossover pipe. You can do w/e you want too.

Its debatable but between the x, h and straight mid pipe on a 3.8 the sound shouldnt sound different. I'll admit ill be running a crossover pipe h or x because it will bolt up easier. If i was having an exhaust shop install my stuff i would of let them do it all.

Aight..heres the dilly... YEs and no...When my car first starts off when its cool outside the exhaust is loud yes, but not very intimidating...once it settles down and the flow relaxes you and really hear the cam much better and the car sounds a hell of alot better... That being said...

Long tub hEaders with a Catted h-pipe (as that is ALL there is for offer... there are no x-pipes for Lts...) and a catback will sound louder...just look around for clips of LTs... in my sig theres the page for the 3.8 forum theres a coiuple guys that have the LTheader set up...

i would replace the headers for a better sound and more of the fun factor.
but realistically the stock headers are good enough for power, and aftermarket sets would do almost nothing for perfomance, but if you want better sound then get some nice headers.
