20's on an 04 stang
I was thinking about buying these, "Two 20x8.5" (35mm or 20mm offset) with about 2.5" Lip and Two 20x10" (30mm offset) with about 4" Lip" anybody seen or have a stang with this setup? Also what size tires would i need? Thanks for the help guys!

well I had 20x8.5 chrome cobra Rs on my 96 GT. My avatar is the best picture I have as a result of a computer crash. They are currently on my fiance's 95 v6. I really liked the look (only took them off because fiance wanted some chrome rims and I plan on getting some dark rims in the near future). Believe it or not, they actually don't look bad on mustangs. Everyone criticizes those who want to go big. These 20s did not even look that big on the car. I often had people ask me about the size and were shocked to know that they were 20s. They were often mistaken for 18s. If style is what you are after, then obviously 20s are ok. For performance, you would probably want to just stick with 17s. The tires were Nitto NT-555s, 255/35/20 up front, 275/35/20 in the back. On the GT, I had very little problems scrubbing, except for really steep driveways. The v6 has more problems due to a softer rear suspension and no rear swaybar.
I will try to post pics if you want. I might even be willing to sell you mine if you are interested, since I want some dark rims for my car and they scrub a bit on my fiance's. I don't know if you were interested in chrome cobra Rs or not. Here is the link to what the rims look like up close from where they were purchased Chrome Cobra Rs. I am not exactly sure of the offsets. I did not personally purchase these rims (they were put on by the previous owner), but the link is to the place from where the guy bought them, and since they only list a +30 offset, I assume that is what my rims are. Let me know if you are interested.

Look...the object with mustangs is NOt the object with other cars where your objective is to get the biggest rims that fit in your car. On mustangs, 19" and 20" is flat out ridiculous. 18" looks AWESOME on every car I've seen and there is no reason why 19 or 20 is any better.

I will say that I would not have a set of 20s if they were not already on the car when I bought them. Right now, being in college and having little money, the more economical thing is to go smaller (by smaller, I mean smaller than 20s, like the average 17), but since I didn't have to buy these, it is no sweat. I can change up when it comes time for tires or if find someone to buy these off of me (krod are you listening??). I do have to say that to me, the car drove and rode much better with the 20s than it does with the stock 16s back on it. You do notice a torque decrease with the large rims, but if show is what you are after, then it won't matter too much, and I am sure that it is not that much to matter unless you are drag racing anyway, where every little 1/10 matters.
So bottomline is, get off your high horse and only express opinions. Nothing is set in stone as to what you can or cannot do to your car.

Yes, anyone can add 20 to their 99-04 mustang, but these are people with no taste. humongous, thick, wheelwell filling rims look like @$$ on mustangs and if you took a poll of Mustang enthusiasts, 95% of them would say that they don't like the look. Sure the ricers would be all over it but who are you trying to impress anyways?
But, anyway, this thread was krod asking about putting large rims on his mustang. I posted here because he asked for people with experience with 20s. Although I do not have a 99-04, I figured I could be of some assistance to him. I guess enough smack talk for tonight.
