another drag radial question..
So, I made a thread about a week ago just talking about what drag radials i should go with. I always hear that the MT ET streets are the best out there, but have always been told that they dont make them for a 18" rim. Well i was talking to my friend who is also building up a mustang and he asked me why i wasn't going with ET streets. I explained to him that i had an 18" rim and he said look at this link:
http://www.jegs.com/i/Mickey+Thompso...753925%7C36685 Its a 305/35/18....which is the same size i was going to go with the Nitto 555R's. Just wondering what your guys feedback is...thanks! these will be going on 18x9 rims... Mike |
Definitely the Mickey's.

i had a feeling people would say that lol. And i would say i put about 6-7k miles a year on this car and it has never seen the track so i think they will last fine.

284 a tire  you could get a badass looking street tire for the same price. |
to hook up on the street. I run kumho ecsta mx's now and i think they are one of the best street tires and my blower and 4.10s break it loose like its nothing.
|
when is your car breaking loose? if its during a launch off of a stop light then nothing will fix that because its the "street" and 35 psi of air in your tire. also if the temps are below 40* then your tires will not hook that well either.
|
so your telling me stepping up to a drag radial wont help increase my hookage at all?? that doesn't sound right...
|
my experience with DR's and 400 hp is that a 315 nitto breaks loose pretty bad when i mash the peddle at 30 miles per hour in temps in the 30* range even 40* they dont do to well. those mickey's could be a different story, i dont know. if you want your car too hook well off of a stop light then your chasing the same dream that i am. your adjustable UCA's and LCA will help out a lot i dont have subframes so my chasis flex's big time.
those tires compare the dimensions to the nitto's dimensions and see if they will fit the same...look at the tire width it says 10" is the min edit: im going to order some of these for my 17" rims since my nittos are toast and im not impressed with them at all 3 sets of decent life but shitty traction at tracks. |
yeah ive heard that the ET streets are the stickiest radial on the market.
