Removing wheel center caps
Hi, I just purchased 4 18" deep dish bullet rims and and 4 large mustang center caps from Amer Muscle.
How do I remove the plastic piece (center cap) thats already mounted in the bullet rim, so i can replace with the ones I bought?

I've never actually looked, but just examine the area from behind the wheel, it should just be clipped in

What plastic thing it sticks to? There are clips that hold it onto the wheel. After you take off the wheel, hit the center cap from behind with something like a screwdriver. Then you just pop the new one on.

My 18" bullits have a plaatic piece inside minus the center caps (logo). The "M" logos stock to these caps with an adhesive. However, they (logos)are not already mounted to the plaastic piece inside because American Muscle sells the ford mustang center caps (plastic piece and logo) which to insert I have to remove the ones already in there.

I'm also not real sure what you're asking. If you need to get the backing off of the adhesive, a good trick is heating the area up with a blow dryer. Then it should just peel off. Maybe you can get to this, plastic piece, after that?

ok let me try to explain.
The center caps consist of a logo stuck to a plastic piece (center cap). This plastic peice has tabs with a wire circle in it.
The ones already in the rims are minus the logo, the ones I bought have the logo already adhered. To get the new center cap plastic piece into the wheels I have to remove the existing ones.
otherwise, if I pry them off (new ones) I have to reglue, tape etc. to get themon the ones alreadyon wheel.
Basically a center cap is two pieces..the logo which is taped glued on to the 2nd piece which is plastic and has tabs.

Are you not able to simply un-clip the existing caps and just knock them off from behind? It seems this is way more difficult than it should be.
Like I've said before, I've never done it before, but I can't imagine it being too difficult.
